A standard 5x5? (not too expensive if possible, but not necessary)

As for the feels, I have HuaLong and am very happy with it, but I also like the WeiLong. For 4x4 the Yuxin works fine for me, but I don't have a comparison.

The new Cyclone Boys 5x5 is very good, especially for the price. Some people are liking it better than the MoYu 5x5s. I'm still undecided but that means it's not bad at all.

55mm Zhanchi vs Mini Aolong vs Mini WeiLong?

Which of the above cubes are better for OH? Is there any other alternatives for one hand that are also viable? I'm looking for a smaller cube for one hand that is smooth and fast, fast enough to turn one hand.

I have all three in the mini/55mm version an I like the AoLong because of the bubbly feel. The WeiLong would be my next choice.

Both, and then the Mega and all the cubes up to 7x7 if you don't already have them.

But more seriously. Get the one you like the most.

I have both, and don't use any of them much because:
a) they are too easy to solve so, as an entertainment they are plain boring
b) I hate to speedsolve them because of the awkward turning of both, compared to a cube

So, for entertainment I just solve some 3x3 shapemod, or a rex cube, megaminx, etc. and for speedsolving I'm more into cubes (mainly 3x3)

Thanks

Should i get a pyra or skewb?

Get whatever appeals to you. For me, I'm skipping the pyraminx as being too simple, unless I snag one purely for collection purposes (same with 2x2). I remember solving it long ago without even learning a proper method so it can't be that hard if you can figure it out as you go along. Don't know much about skewb, never tried one.

For me, I've got several 3x3's and just bought a 4x4 the other day which I'm learning to solve. I would like to eventually get a Megaminx and a 5x5 once I feel ready, then sort of take it from there. If I enjoy the 5x5, maybe someday a 6x6 and so on? We'll see how it goes.

The skewb can be solved with just one simple 4-move alg. It's not as intuitive as Pyra because whenever you turn a corner you move 50% of the skewb with it but, once you learn the alg and the method (Sarah's beginner, which takes like 5 minutes to learn) you're done... unless you want to speedsolve it, of course. I got mine (a Moyu) more for collecting purposes than for other reasons, learned to solve it and that's it. Same with Pyra. So, if you find pyra too simple, skewb is gonna be more or less the same. Megaminx, 4x4 and 5x5 are a lot more fun, whether you speedsolve them or not. Haven't tried bigger cubes that 5x5 yet and I don't think I'll do that until I'm a bit better at 4x4 and 5x5. Found 2x2 interesting, though, even if it's simple, there's a lot there to be learnt in order to speedsolve it but my preferred event is, without a doubt, 3x3.

I'm looking for a cube that doesn't lock up, turns easily right out the box, and corner cuts well. A 3x3 cube that is. I was thinking about the Moyu Aolong V2.

Looking for a 4x4 to replace lightly modded shengshou, maybe a Yuxin or YJ YuSu? (if YuSu turns nice)

I don't really *need* a new cube, but I do need to pick up a few replacement stickers and as long as I'm doing that I might as well hit the free shipping level, you know?

I currently have an Aolong v2 (main), Yueying, Yuxin, and Weilong v2. I'd like something kind of fast/loose feeling, controllable, not catchy, and with good corner cutting although it doesn't have to be amazing cutting. I don't like the feeling of cubes that warp out of shape too much and then snap back into a cube. The Yuxin does this a bit but I'm learning to manage it. I'm OK with roundness like the Aolong or more boxy like the Weilong (maybe not quite that boxy), either way is fine. Not worried about pops or corner twists, don't care if it's noisy or quiet, or if it's 56mm vs. 57mm.

Some cubes I've been looking at include the Hualong, Meiying, Gans 356, and QiYi Thunderclap. I know some of these may be a bit warpy but it's hard to tell how much. I'm open to other suggestions as well though.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Mine should arrive today. First cube I've ever pre-ordered...

I just got my Cubic AoFu and did two solves. Right out of the box it is better than my Mini ShengShou. It moves about as easily as a broken in ShengShou but doesn't catch, lock and pop. I feel more confident making turns rather than holding back in fear of a lockup. The thicker outer layer is a little disorienting at first. Other than that, no complaints. Definitely money better spent than the pillowed AoFu.
