I'm going to order a speedcube hopefully end of the week, I'm around 29-31 second average on a rubiks brand with a 21.xx pb. I'm looking at a zhanchi, aolong v2, weilongv2, hualong, bullfight/phoenix (jr cuber's main i think), yuxin, and a gans 357. I know that's a lot of cubes, but i have a hard time deciding on things. I don't like an overlubed feel, if that helps.

There are so many good 3x3 out there that you can't really go wrong with any of them, the zhanchi might be a little dated now, might stay away from that cube. The huanlong is also an imporved weilong so it makes more sense to get it rather than weilong.

I like the zhanchi feel best from the cubes i've tried (it and the aolong are the two cubes on the list i have tried :3) I also heard the hualong was slightly uncontrollable, so i put the welong on the list as well. But if the hualong is not uncontrollable, that would be a good idea

The Weilong is nothing like the HuaLong. The pieces are similar but the WeiLong is s much more solid and controllable. I feel like it is a less catchy and less blocky Zhanchi.

The Yuxin has a similar feel to the AoLong but with better corner cutting a much less corner twisting.

Would the weilong still be a good choice in 2015?

Update: I think I've narrowed it down to a yuxin, weilong, aolong, and hualong, which would be the best for my speed?

My philosophy is that you need a cube that serves as a counterpoint to your turning style, regardless of speed. So if you turn slowly and smoothly but have decent lookahead (maybe you aren't so good with fingertricks), then pick a fast cube that will counter some of the slowness. If all you ever do is spam T-perms and have really jerky turning, get something more controllable so you don't explode.

So if you fall in the first category: hualong, maybe yuxin
latter category: aolong, weilong

This is, of course. if you're only looking at the 4 you mentioned.

The Weilong is a great choice.
I use it as my main over the Aolong V2
I prefer the weilong because of the speed and feel.

I you really liked the Zhanchi then I'd go with the Weilong v2 hands down.

There is no "good cube for my speed" you can always adapt the cube a bit and make it slower or faster with lube. I'd chose the cube that has the feeling that you like the most and feel comfortable with so, judging for your preference for the Zhanchi that's my recommendation. But take into account also that, of those 4, the Hualong is the only one I have not tried, so I'm basing my advice on what others say about this cube. Other good and cheap cubes with somewhat similar blocky feel are the YJ ones, specially the Chilong (it is my main).

I really hate the Yuxin, for me it does not feel at all like the Aolong. Perhaps I have not set it right or have not tried it enough but it feels bumpy/bouncy, perhaps it's because of the springs, not sure, but for me it's like a horse that doesn't want to obey, when you try to force it a bit, bacause of inaccurate turning it jumps at me and turns whichever way it wants. Any tips?

I'm not the biggest fan of the along. I think for me it's between the weilong and the hualong, I'm willing to expand from zhanchi; if the yuxin isn't like an aolong, that might be a good option for me

hi guys

i average 18 seconds

I am currently using a Aolong V2 (i feel is a bit too slow for me, guanying was way to fast) i also have the mini Weilong and like it a lot also like the fangshi shuangren both for their speed.

I have a very aggressive turning style.

I DO NOT like clicky loud cubes (like the yueying) or heavy cubes.

i am considering either of the gans, the weilong, the fangshi shuangren, the qiyi bullfight or thunderclap.

what cube would you recommend?
