What are the specialities of each cube? I really like the weilong feel, does the lingpo feel like that?

I too want to know the same one.

I just got a LingPo and I like its feel.

If Weilong and Weisu have the same feel, I might get them.

Weilong, black or white ?

Hi everyone !

I have been reading the forums for some time now, but it is my first time posting. I have been cubing seriously for about 3 weeks now. Even though my first solve was probably two months ago now. I average about 45sec with my best solve at 35sec.

It all started since I got my Zhanchi. I will be moving in London in a few days for a few months and will definitely order a weilong as soon as I am there. I know which shop, I know what cube, but I don't know what color. I own a vcube ( that I never touch ), a zhanchi 55mm and a zhanchi 57mm ( my main ), which are all black.

I really like the feel of the zhanchi, I use it without torpedos, tensioned quite tight ( not too much so that I can still cut corners ), lubed with shock oil, but I heard about the weilong. Moreover, it seems it is the cube to have at the moment, so I thought I'd get my hands on it.

Also, I read a lot of stories on this forum about cube color changing the quality of it ( mostly argumented by different plastic composition ). So, I wanted to have the opinion of people who either got both or heard anything bad about the black or white weilong. At the moment I lean towards the white one, but it's rather for the look ( I have no white one so it would definitely be welcome in my collection ), than for its performances, which is still the most important to me as I have big hope it'll become my new main.

I think colour preference is just that. More of a preference for what colour you are used to. As for there being a difference in quality, I'm sure it's random just like how two cubes from the same batch of the same colour can feel slightly different. My personal experience has always been a cube to cube thing. I've owned 10+ Zhanchi's and they've all been slightly different. I prefer black cubes, therefore I always buy black.

The color of the cube doesn't affect its performance enough to matter. If you like how white cubes look and can recognize well on them, go for white. If black works for you, go for black.

The only exception IMO is the stickerless cubes which might look nice but are not competition legal.

I want to get my first square-1. There doesn't seem to be too many of them available, at least not from the cubicle where i normally get cubes, but which one would you recommend?

Thanks!

does it feel tight or loose?

Loose. Even on the tightest useable tensions. I got it assembled, have since taken it apart to investigate, and no obvious issues.

I guess it could have been badly threaded by a production line worker somewhere in China - I'd just always assumed that was the way the SR was: fast and smooth, but poppy!

Maybe it would be worth a spring swap. Any ideas what hardware would fit a SR version 1 (56mm)?

I think that the primary Weilong is visually more applealing than the white which I also have. I'm not that fast and don't know about color affecting speed, though I've heard that discussed here. The Weilongs are certainly nice cubes but I wouldn't necessarily put them in a higher category than the Zanchis so I wouldn't expect too much there. They are very nice to have though.

looking for new 3x3 speedcube.

Hello!
New cuber (~5months) and I'm looking for a new 3x3 speedcube. I have a Day an GuHong as my main, its also my only 3x3.
I have a 30sec average. What the issue with the guhong is that I tend to lock up with it, its sometimes hard to control. Other sides move sometimes when I don't want them to.
I don't want a zhanchi because I already had one, I was thinking the fanshi v2 but I don't know if its easy to control, the gans 3 seamed like it had issues with lock ups after watching Jr cubers review.
I like the guhong but it's not my soul main

I'm rambling

So please make a recommendation, tell me what you have, why you like it , or why you don't.

Thanks!

My main argument to purchase a weilong is that according to the reviews I watched, it seems to be about the same as a zhanchi, but with better reverse cutting and less lock ups. Indeed, my zhanchi tends to lock up a little, especially on oll / pll algs which make me loose precious seconds sometimes. I only have it for 10 days now and I feel it's not totally broken in yet, I still find the feel changes over time. So, it may become better once it's properly broken in. Also, the zhanchi learnt me to deal with loose tensions even though I use mine with quite tight tensions.
