Which is the better V-Perm?

(R' U R' U') y (R' F’) (R2 U' R' U) (R' F R F)
(R' U R' U') (R D' R’ D) R' (U D’) (R2 U’ R2) D R2

For simplicity and lesser movecount, its the first one.
For reducing rotations, its the second one. it depends on what you prefer, I prefer the first one because it has lesser movecount and simpler, but some other cubers may say that the second one is better because of no rotations.

The second one looks cooler, though.

I have been cubing for almost a year and am sub 20 on 3x3. I usually get 17-19 second solves. I have practiced every day but now I realise I actually need to learn something new to get faster. I use CFOP with 2 look OLL. My goal is sub 15. Should I learn OLL or what?

You don’t really need OLL, but if you want, go with it. Your cross and F2L is more likely to be the issue. Check your splits up against Feliks’ work out where you need to improve. Might want to start looking into Cross + 1 and make your F2L basically pauseless. All algs for F2L you should know, and have the best one for. IDK much about CFOP though.

You might as well learn full OLL but it won't improve your times as much as you think (especially if you are really confident with 2 look and can actually predict the 2nd case beforehand). But also practice your F2L, make sure you are not making loads of silly mistakes and make sure it's as efficient as it can be.

I'm currently sub 25 with about these splits:
Cross: 3,5s
F2L: 12-15s (cross included)
OLL: 4-5s
PLL: 4-5s
I know full PLL but somehow it's as fast as my 2 look OLL.
My PLL recognition is sub 2 and right now I'm starting to learn full OLL.
My F2L lookahead isn't the best so I know that I should focus on that (which I am) but is there any other tips?

During your level, lookahead is not important, the only thing you need to focus on is Cross, and last layer, practice is also important.

I have been speed cubing for 5 months and achieved 20 second averages over time. A month ago my parents took away my cubes for several reasons and I just received it yesterday. Now however I am unable to find myself averaging below 30 seconds often. I've watched several videos and posts and still am unable to get positive results. I use standard CFOP with 2 look last layer, COLL, WV and a few ZBLLs. I'm also fully Color-neutral and take my algorithms from Pro speedcubes. During F2L my average TPS is around 4 seconds and 7 while executing algorithms.

I'm seriously in need of help to improve.

dude you dont need any winter variation or zblls to be sub 30. probably improve your f2l efficiency and fingertricks. lookahead isnt necessary until you hit a wall in your improvement after nearly mastering the other two skills. also probably work on cross because most people who dont avg sub 15 have fairly bad crosses. go for 6 moves or less per cross, but sometimes you have to go for 7 or 8 if its a really bad case.

Yeah, also, just lots of solves and practising will do it ;)
