I am sub 40 with full PLL, I average 17 seconds on F2L, 4 seconds on OLL, and 5 seconds on PLL. Can anybody give me any tips on how to be sub 30?

P. S. Don't say slow down and look ahead!

P. P. S. I'm not sub 30 because my cross is horrible.

I don't know what you mean by splits but | my cross is 3-4 seconds | F2L 7-8 | LL 6 - 8

Yeah, that's what splits are. You should probably work on getting cross sub-2, or at least sub-3. Try challenging yourself to find the most efficient cross for a given scramble and see if you're correct (or a move or two more) with csTimer's solve cross feature. :)

Well um first of all if your f2l is 17, Oll 4, and PLL 5, that adds up to 26 so obviously you calculated wrong. Secondly, your asking for tips for getting sub 30 and you literally said "I'm not sub 30 because my recognition is horrible" so umm you kinda answered your own question lol

8 tips for an efficient cross. Video by J Perm on YouTube, look it up. It did wonders for my cross.

Also watch example solve videos. Try to plan out the whole cross during inspection.

I forgot to say my cross time and also I need to account for transitions.

But you're right, I kind of answered my own question.

What should i do???
Just practise. And practise. And practise. And practise.

Also, do more untimed solves. Having a timer staring at you makes you focus on short-term changes rather than long-term improvements, which come from things like solving your F2L more efficiently, or from using better LL algs, or whatever.

I have been cubing for 1 year now(but it has been only a couplemonth since ive been trying to speedsolve) and i am sub 40.I still do only white and yellow cross in 3-6 sec ,i average 14-16 in f2l and do 3lll in 8-10 sec.
I want to improve but i dont know how,so i ask how can i get sub 30?

Do untimed solves. Practice your cross and F2L, make sure they are efficient. Someone above has mentioned J Perms video. Check that out. Intuitive F2L is fine, just make sure they are under 8 moves each. If they arent, look up algs on algdb. For last layer, just drill the algs and improve recog and execution.

Good luck on sub 30!

I finally got a sub-30 Ao12 today! Yay! But now I'm thinking, what's next? How can I get sub 25? How can I get sub 20? How can I.....

anyway, how can I generally improve? I know (almost) full PLL and 2 look OLL. I usually get 13 seconds on F2L, 5 on cross,
3 on OLL, and 4 seconds on PLL.

P. S. My Ao12 was 27.44.

Get your cross + F2L below ~15 seconds (in particular, your cross looks like a huge weakness here), start learning full OLL, and drill your PLL algs to get faster at executing them.

I'm right around sub-14 (CFOP) and trying to improve. I know full OLL and PLL, as well as COLL minus the sune and antisune cases. I can one-look the cross most of the time, but not comfortably, and I can't look ahead further than that in inspection unless it's a really simple cross solution. I think my general lookahead is okay, but it definitely can be improved upon. My cross to F2L transition has a bit of a pause. I think my LL TPS could use some work as well. I know there's some F2L cases I solve pretty inefficiently, too.
My question is, what should I work on first? Are there any other general tips besides improving this stuff that could help me improve?

Thanks, working on my cross really helped my times.
