Hi,

this guide is a thing I could really need right now, so thanks ! ! !

Right now I still solve the cube the Beginners method and reach times about 1

minute (more or less ;) ), so yesterday I decided to learn the Fridrich method,

but there are a hell lot of Algorithms so this 'guide' comes in very handy to me!!

Alex

P.S.: Sorry for my bad english, I'm sick and tired right now ....

To Pcwiz: nice threat ! I wanted to do it one day just because this forum contains too much posts like "how can I improve ? what should I learn ? How long would this take ? ...".

To GermanCube: I think a lot of people are afraid by the number of algorithms in Fridrich. It is quite ironic as you don't really need more algorithms as in layer-by-layer or petrus. You can do intuitive cross, intuitive F2L and layer-by-layer ending of the cube ! People who learnt Fridrich with me learnt only 4 algorithms at the begining. Then it is mainly to work on the F2L part (and some easy oll and easy pll)... and after that only should you learn some more OLL and/or PLL.

OK, I'll try to be actually helpful. Go slow, and look ahead at the next piece to solve while solving. Use a metronome to improve consistent tps and help look ahead. Most of all, just practice.

The search function has helped many cubers get faster.

Also it's a good idea to use your time to practice rather than opening a "How to get faster" thread with no information given about your knowledge.

even do this is a old topic it wil prob help me alot Thanks:D.
I was at a average of 1:50 with the f2l, 2look oll and 2look pll. But then i bought a d.i.y. cube and me average is 1:10 so that helps allot.
but should i stay at 2look oll/pll til i have a average of 30-39? or can i start learning pll's?

Awesome Guide, THANKS!

Fortunately I can start at Step 2 :)
I'm still a beginner, but that's just what I need ;)

You should probably consider adding inserting F2L Pairs from all angles as one of the things. It's actually quite hard and slowed my averages from 35 seconds about to 50 seconds, utilizing as few cube rotations as possible, and about 45 while still using some (but reduced).

I'm only at step three (only started a month ago), but I found I was stuck forever at 1:00 times. I was going as fast as I possibly could, using all my speed, but getting no lookahead. I slowed down and looked ahead more... 0:42, 0:41, 0:46. It pays off to look ahead, it more than makes up for the time you spend looking for cases if you go full speed.

how to train??how to get faster but not really it

ok so i wanted to get faster
(ok for now its the boring thread that everyone says use search!)
i got 3x3-30-29 secs on calm turning and not really looking-ahead
umm its defently sub 30 when i can concentrate enough to look ahead.***
4x4-2:30~
5x5-4:45~

these are the main cubes that i wanna focus on them.
now, HOW DO I GET FASTER! but,(!) i know that there's connections between these cubes (like that theres connection between 5x5 and 7x7) so i wonder
how much should i practice 3x3 to increase my 5x5 and 4x4 times?(5x5 is the most importent) and how much should i practice the 5x5 and 4x4 to get noticeable increasing speed in my times.
*** it's very hard for me to reach the amount of concentration needed to look-ahead.

please do not answer: SOLVE UNTIL YOUR FINGER'S BLEEDING or JUST SOLVE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN~
please, consider my request and do not answer these posts that doesn't help me!:fp

really, a month ago i hit the sup-20 barrel and thought that it's impossible to improve unless i learn OLL. but then i just kept on practicing and found that im getting sub-20s more and more often. so basicly you gets better bit by bit if you kept practicing.
