How well does Lubix work on a 7x7 in terms of turning and durability? I drop 3 drops of Maru lube on each layer and it wears off after about 2 solves.

30k wt silicone oil is all you need in tems of lube IMO (unless you own a finhop, in which case; buy sandpaper beforehand).

Get yourself an mf8 Legend. Behold! A cube that ignores the laws of lubrication! A cube that will make you feel like you just plainly suck at cubing. No lube included or needed. You can lube it, but if you do, don't bother playing with it. It'll punch you in the face and then take a steaming dump in the corner of your bedroom whilst you're contemplating what the F is going on.

I've been waiting for about a week now for three separate orders from 3 various companies to deliver a new 3x3x3 to me.

Been using my 32 year old rubik's brand cube in the meantime and it's hideous to move. Decided to drip some olive oil into it yesterday and was surprised to see how much it had improved. :)

Do you use the CRC silicon spray? because i did a bit of research and found that there are different types of CRC.

I've been using a 'Silicone grease' from Griffon for a while (it's a brands that's available in many DIY stores in the Netherlands). See http://www.werkenmetmerken.nl/en/griffon_siliconenvet/p/243/36/184, for example.

I use it to lube the area inside the center pieces, and small amounts for the rest of the cube. It has the same property as shock oil, that too much will make the cube sluggish, but with this particular product, you can use a bit more before it's 'overlubed'.

I've ordered some lubix products, so that I can compare them.

I also use silicone sprays, but I like to paint the lube on the pieces with a brush, rather than spray it on.

What should I lube my shengshou 4x4 v3 with? I've been using maru and it's working great; I love the feel. It's quick, but still smooth. The thing is is that it loses that feel within a week (30 solves?). So yea, what lube will give the same feel as maru, but last longer? Thanks.

BE WARNED. Olive oil and other products like that can dissolve the inside of the cube if you leave it for too long. Remember to clean it out soon. Polish works quite well, so you may want to use that.

Is this good? http://www.amazon.com/OFNA-Racing-S...7MII/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1332351961&sr=8-1
It's OFNA 50,000 wt silicone, is that close to the equivalent of lubix, or should I go with this traxxas? http://www.amazon.com/Traxxas-Oil-differential-weight-TRA5137/dp/B000BOLVFI/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_t_3

The OFNA is 3 times larger in volume, and is just slightly more expensive.
I've seen that both OFNA and Traxxas are popular lubricants. It's pretty much personal preference.

How is silicube lubricant? Anybody try it yet, is it good?

Silicube lube is amazing, well rush is anyway. My lingyun v2 was fast without lube, and with it it has become insanely fast. U2's are easy, yet it doesn't overshoot. Corner cutting has become much better, and it does not over shoot. Take all of this with a grain of salt, because the only other lube I have tried is silicone spray

I put some powdered graphite in a store bought I will post how it goes here.

Did you just crush mechanical pencil lead? I tried to do that once, but mine just couldn't be crushed down to a fine enough powder.

Today in tech prep (working with big machines like drill presses class), we were working with mineral oil and somebody in our class had a storebought cube.
He asked the teacher if he could put mineral oil in the cube and he said sure.
It became kinda sticky 'cause he put way too much in, and it got all over the stickers (is that bad?)
It did become muuuch smoother though.
