Soak all the pieces in soapy water. Take an unused toothbrush, and rub all the areas. Or use a fine towel. Let it properly dry, and reassemble. How long does it take for lube to completely... I guess... dry up. I'm using cubicle weight 5
I don’t really think that’s a good idea... Is it possible to buy some lube? If you really want to try, do it in your Rubik’s Brand or something first. My lube string is all empty and my cube is dry. The only lubricant substitute I have is bicycle lubricant. Can I use it to lube the pieces.
[UPDATE]Covid-19 lockdown has banned all e-commerce services. I'll try it on my Carbon Fiber cube.
Do you have anything else besides silicone spray? There’s better options for cheap.Hello guys, I am interested in buying a QiYi MS 3x3 and I want to know if silicone spray is a good lube for this cube and if there is different types of silicone spray. Thanks!
That’s a great cube for cheap by the wayDo you have anything else besides silicone spray? There’s better options for cheap.
Traxxas is a fantastic silicon based lube and is my favorite silicon lube for my cubes, Its very cheap, about 25 bucks for 150ccs of it, here is an Amazon listing for a 3-pack of 10k 30k and 50k. The rule of thumb is basically 10k = Weight 1, 30k = Weight 3, 50k = Weight 5I am very confused with what lube I should buy,I have a basic understanding of the different weights and types and I know I should buy some lube from the Cubicle or speedcubeshop, but I know I won't get free shipping unless I buy $39 of stuff, so I think I'll wait 5 months until my birthday to get premium lubes. Are there any good lubes that I could buy on Amazon just for the short term?
If it needs a really big boost, and I mean REALLY BIG, use DNM. Otherwise, use Max Fleet.Max Fleet vs DNM-37 vs Lubicle 1 vs Lubicle Speedy?
Have a Tengyun V2, lubed with Silk, 30K, and Adheron. It’s nice, but too slow, and if I wipe out some to get more speed, it loses smoothness and quietness in return. Anyone have suggestions?
Here you mention that water isn't good, is that the problem? Why would water ruin future lubes?Use a paper towel. Water in the long run just ruins future lubes.
On the other hand I see a lot of people swear by soap and water so I'm not sure what's best, or if this is my problem at all.Soak all the pieces in soapy water. Take an unused toothbrush, and rub all the areas. Or use a fine towel. Let it properly dry, and reassemble.
I don't know much about this but I did find this link from cubicle that has really good descriptions of their lubes and some of them mention lasting longer the usual silicone! https://www.thecubicle.com/pages/cubicle-custom-optionsI have a question. What is the best lube for someone in a really dry environment? Where I live it is like less than 10% humidity almost all the time. I have DNM, Silk, Lubicle 1, and the Max lubes and they all wear out extremely quickly and make my cubes gummy and slow. Thanks in advance!
