My lube string is all empty and my cube is dry. The only lubricant substitute I have is bicycle lubricant. Can I use it to lube the pieces.

How long does it take for lube to completely... I guess... dry up. I'm using cubicle weight 5
Soak all the pieces in soapy water. Take an unused toothbrush, and rub all the areas. Or use a fine towel. Let it properly dry, and reassemble.

I don’t really think that’s a good idea... Is it possible to buy some lube? If you really want to try, do it in your Rubik’s Brand or something first.

Covid-19 lockdown has banned all e-commerce services. I'll try it on my Carbon Fiber cube.

[UPDATE]
I actually tried it on my carbon fiber cubes and it works great! I guess it works similar to differential oil. It makes the cube both smooth and fast. The viscosity is similar to the of Weight 5 lubes.

Hello guys, I am interested in buying a QiYi MS 3x3 and I want to know if silicone spray is a good lube for this cube and if there is different types of silicone spray. Thanks!

Do you have anything else besides silicone spray? There’s better options for cheap.

That’s a great cube for cheap by the way

I only have silicone spray because the others lube are expensive and cubing for me is just for fun, I don't want to spend a lot of money in lubrication.

I am very confused with what lube I should buy,I have a basic understanding of the different weights and types and I know I should buy some lube from the Cubicle or speedcubeshop, but I know I won't get free shipping unless I buy $39 of stuff, so I think I'll wait 5 months until my birthday to get premium lubes. Are there any good lubes that I could buy on Amazon just for the short term? #### Sub1Hour ##### Member I am very confused with what lube I should buy,I have a basic understanding of the different weights and types and I know I should buy some lube from the Cubicle or speedcubeshop, but I know I won't get free shipping unless I buy$39 of stuff, so I think I'll wait 5 months until my birthday to get premium lubes. Traxxas is a fantastic silicon based lube and is my favorite silicon lube for my cubes, Its very cheap, about 25 bucks for 150ccs of it, here is an Amazon listing for a 3-pack of 10k 30k and 50k. The rule of thumb is basically 10k = Weight 1, 30k = Weight 3, 50k = Weight 5

If you are going to get lube from either TC or SCS I would whole heartedly recommend TheCubicle by a long shot. My personal favorites are DNM, Mystic, and Lubicle-1

Max Fleet vs DNM-37 vs Lubicle 1 vs Lubicle Speedy?
Have a Tengyun V2, lubed with Silk, 30K, and Adheron. It’s nice, but too slow, and if I wipe out some to get more speed, it loses smoothness and quietness in return. Anyone have suggestions?

If it needs a really big boost, and I mean REALLY BIG, use DNM. Otherwise, use Max Fleet.

Or maybe Lubest XMT 10 would be good? I have heard positive reviews, negatives only being it being too fast.

DNM-37 is an overall fast lube though, can't go wrong with it, especially with a slow cube

I have a question. What is the best lube for someone in a really dry environment? Where I live it is like less than 10% humidity almost all the time. I have DNM, Silk, Lubicle 1, and the Max lubes and they all wear out extremely quickly and make my cubes gummy and slow. Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, do you happen to know how manufacturers usually lube the cubes they sell? They often come with so much lube that it's all over the cube but in return they are really fast and easy to turn. I've been trying to get a similar speed with a bit of smoothness but can't seem to get it right.

I clean the cube with first a dry and then a wet microfibre cloth to get all the old lubes off.
Use a paper towel. Water in the long run just ruins future lubes.
Here you mention that water isn't good, is that the problem? Why would water ruin future lubes?

Soak all the pieces in soapy water. Take an unused toothbrush, and rub all the areas. Or use a fine towel. Let it properly dry, and reassemble.
On the other hand I see a lot of people swear by soap and water so I'm not sure what's best, or if this is my problem at all.

After cleaning, first I just lubed it with DNM-37 which made it fast once the layers were moving but it was difficult to start each turn. So when I tried to move a layer slowly it was very jerky and not gradual or smooth. Then I added one drop of Lubicle Speedy and it's suddenly very smooth and cushiony but it's too much effort to turn. So then I added 2 drops of DNM-37 again and it's amazing for a day but then it's back to nice and smooth, quite good but just too slow and too much effort to turn... Would something like Weight 1 be better you think?
I have an RS3 2020 and I added some Weight 3 to the core to get rid of the spring noise but that shouldn't affect it right?

Not really sure, do manufacturers use their lubes? For example Gan has their Gan magic lube, Qiyi has their Qiyi lube, etc

Well I know my GAN RS arrived with a lot of lube and I see a lot of unboxings mentioning how much lube they have to wipe off.
Actually I got the GAN Magic thinking the same but it doesn't make it faster at all, it just helps with the feel and sound and slows it down a bit as it's a thicker consistency :/ I couldn't get the GAN Standard though so I'm curious but I can't imagine it would be better than anything from the Cubicle?

I don't know much about this but I did find this link from cubicle that has really good descriptions of their lubes and some of them mention lasting longer the usual silicone! https://www.thecubicle.com/pages/cubicle-custom-options
