Should I continue to learn COLL? I average just under 10 seconds right now and I know about a quarter of COLL. Is COLL going to make my solves faster or would it be better to work on x crosses and lookahead instead?
If you plan on eventually learning full ZBLL, then finish COLL. If you don't plan on ZBLL, then OCLL/PLL is just as fast (if not a bit faster) than COLL/EPLL.
Jayden McNeill once told me this: While COLL can make your PLL nicer, it doesn't really make it faster. If your EPLLs are significantly faster than your A-perms, then you really need to work on your A-perms. And the quickness of OCLL compared to COLL makes up for the occasional bad PLL.

alright thanks, I think I will stop learning them for now, I don't plan on ever learning full ZBLL.

There are some cases worth learning and using I think, but I'm not sure which ones they are. And if you ever change your mind about ZBLL, I know a certain Discord server that you would be welcome in ;)

COLL is only good if you're willing to learn ZBLL.
VLS. (what is it with me and VLS ?)

That's not always true. Some COLL algs are really fast, and since they give EPLLs, you have easy recog, and even a Z-Perm is faster than getting a bad PLL. Take these two H cases:

For me personally, I like to use F sexy*3 F' for the H case, with headlights facing you. If you have bars going vertically for the corners, you can instead do this: R U2 R' U' R U R' U' R U' R'

This is also extremely fast, and when applied correctly, can give you a super easy PLL

For that H case, I use R U2 R' U' R U R' U' R U' R' and I think that it is faster than that F sexy*3 F', and it has fewer moves.

R U2 R' U' R U R' U' R U' R' solves the COLL case with two vertical bars, while F sexy*3 F' solves the COLL case with two horizontal bars. Both are AUFed with headlights in front

For this OLL case which algorithm should I use?
(OCLL5-25)

The two I use now are
1. F R' F' r U R U' R' When there is one headlight facing me on the bottom left corner and one on the back right corner ( Like the picture)
2. F' r U R' U' r' F R When there is one headlight facing me on the bottom right and one on the back left corner (Like the picture, but with a y)

I like the second better, it's what I use. They both seem good though. Just run through them slowly and decide on whatever you think has the best fingertricks

I really don't like either of them, they both have a lot of regrips, at least the way that I execute them.

I only know the second one, here's how I execute it:

Put right thumb on F to do the F'. Then hold the Rw layers with your right pointer finger and thumb. Then move your thumb/pointer over(not a regrip) to do the R'. The U' is done with a left pointer flick, then do the Rw' the same way as the Rw, and then just cancel into sledge minus the last move

I know both cuz COLL, I executive that the same as you, and do the first one from home-grip and regriplessly, as the inverse of the T alg

Yeah find out finger tricks that help you move it more easily

You should probably have a good cube, though it wont pop

Try to perfect them so they wont jam, and work on smoothness and flow
ATTENTION ALL NEW CUBERS
you can tension your cube so it wont pop. Do this by just popping all the center caps off and using screwdriver to tighten it( or loosen if your cube is to tight)

Nice bump, but don’t bump posts from 12 years ago, that user hasn’t been on the forums since 2008

Use both, and these algs:
R U2 R D R' U2 R D' R2'
r U2' R2' F R F' R U2' r'
y' R' U2 R' D' R U2 R' D R2
