My pb is only 39 seconds using cfop. How do I improve my times on mainly the last layer and also f2l?

See me too was very worried about my averages when i learnt CFOP..But Trust me i have gone down to 16 seconds By learning Full PLL,Fingertricks and 2look OLL and the main thing is DO LOT OF PRACTICE!!!! Try to see next f2l pair without stopping..and try to reduce cube rotations as much as you can..This will help u a lot..and also learn to recognise PLL fast...These little things are really helpfull..Also u can see this thread for more info https://www.speedsolving.com/forum/...-to-Get-Faster-using-the-Fridrich-CFOP-Method

Well, I have a dayan zhanchi

Good enough!!! Not used as main by many people now, with all those new cubes out there but still an excellent all around cube and a joy to solve with. I still use mine from time to time. I put new fluro stickers from TheCubicle on it with the same pink Chris Olson uses... just because :)

Help With cfop

So guys i am able to solve the cross in 7 seconds in Cfop and F2L in aroung 10-15 seconds (sometimes faster than that as i know intuitive F2L :p) I have also learned the 2 Look OLL completely and 2 Look PLL but do get faster times is it better to learn 1 Look PLL first or 1 Look OLL first ?

PB :- 37.49 seconds

My PB is 36 seconds and I am learning the PLL algorithms now. Learning all the OLL algorithms will only save you 2 or 3 seconds so learn 1LPLL first, like me.

EDIT- Got 32 second PB today, YAY! Anyway, learn the easy PLL algs first, save G perms for last.

In my solves I've noticed that I pause a lot between cross and my first F2L pair. To help fix this I've practised doing the cross blind so I can track my first F2L pair while I'm doing it. This sometimes works except I run into problems when
i) it is a difficult cross, so it takes me longer than 15 seconds to plan and find an F2L pair
ii) the corner and edge both end up in the bottom two layers so the pair is a really difficult one to solve

Is this the best way of looking ahead from cross to F2L, and I just need more practise to get better at it; or does anyone have a better way to practise cross-F2L look ahead?

Also does anyone know of any good resources (videos, web pages) on cross-F2L look ahead?

General 3x3(cubing in general) tips?

Hi, cubers! I have a sort of a weird question. I was just wondering about som general tips for solving it faster for ex. When shall you rotate the cube and and why shouldn't you?

try not to do many cube rotations during your f2l, because its slower. try to practice f2l by scrambleing it without rotating the cube and then slowly inserting pairs without rotating the cube. this dropped my times from 42 sec average to about 20 average.

Absolutely get a speedcube. If you have the tensionable Rubik's speedcube, that one is okay, but all other Rubik's brands are pretty awful. I think at this point that's holding you back quite a bit. As far as which speed cube to get, just do some research and watch some recent reviews on YouTube to see which one fits your turning style. Some to look into include the QiYi Thunderclap, GuoGuan YueXiao, MoYu AoLong GT, YuXin 3x3, YJ GuanLong, and the Cong's Design MeiYing. Other than that, work on F2L to improve your efficiency, and then you can start learning full OLL and PLL if you haven't already.

Not, really. Sometimes rotations are important. There are many vids on yt whre sb use rotationless F2L. Unless it is Roux, ZZ or other method that does not require rotation, you should rotate. So how?
Never do y2. Some times rotate+2gen+rotate is better than FUF or even BUB
Example: F2 R' U2 F' D R' D' F2 R2 U2 R2 U2 R F2 R2 U2 F2 R2
So from this angle I would insert it normally or just do y and do alg which will orient edges. Not always last pair is FR one. Let's do same scramble + y2 at end
B' U' B + dot OLL or y' R' D r U' r' D' R2 U R' to nice H case or even normal insert after rotate.
You should rotate, but less rotations=better. I think 5 rotations is too much for one solve. Never rotate to AUF OLL&PLL
Learn algs, practice, try to lookahead and solve F2L in fewest moves possible. There is no super-tip that never have been told to get faster. Use google, youtube etc.
PRACTICE!!!!

Umm alright. So I solve with LBL atm. My pb is 22.05 ( did 2 layers and the alg for yellow cross and done ) and I average 30-39. Is it time for me to learn 4LLL? I also learned intuitive f2l but it's slow. I take long to recognize a case and execute it. For 4LLL I'm learned the algs, but the alg I do to set up the last layer (R' F R' B2 R F' R' B2 R2) is really slow cuz of the back moves. Any help with this alg? THanks!
