Learn full PLL. Learn like 2 a day. For example: Learn 2 a day from Monday to Friday and practice only 3x3 on Weekend to drill algs you have learned. And find algs that are good for you and fits you.
Watch f2l/Cross example solves
Improve (Cyotheking's video recomended) and practice your last layer. (There is a option to choose only Last layer scramble on CStimer and maybe on other timers to improve recognition and execution). Drill you Last layer algs
Learn 2 sided PLL recognition.

Thanks, I might consider learning all the PLL now and check the times!

I've been averaging around 45 seconds for around 4 months now and I'm frustrated. I don't practice much but I know some pretty good F2L algs and my OLL and PLL are decent. Is just practicing enough to get me down to where I want to be (sub 20)?

Definitely and easily. I would guess your lookahead may need to be improved so focus on the fluidity of your solves.

How to get sub 20 in 3x3?

Hii Guys I m posting my first thread on this topic..i average around 27sec and my PB is 18.97sec..I use CFOP method and learnt advanced cross, algorithmic f2l,2 look OLL and Full PLL...my lookahead is not gud and i use lot of cube rotations...for just and idea,my times for each step goes like this-
Cross - 3-4sec
F2l - 12sec
OLL - 5sec
PLL - 5sec
Time wasted between moves - 1-2sec
So,please tell me some new ways to get fast and for getting sub 20 and also some techniques to perfect lookahead and also to minimise cube rotations (other than to Go slow for lookahead)
I searched youtube and also researched about this and found lot of helpfull things..but i want some new tricks or techniques if anyone knows..
Thanks for Replying!!!

Learn to pair up and insert F2L pairs from different angles if you don't already. If you only know how to solve a given pair in one position, you're going to waste a little time rotating. It seems like your PLL is slow considering you know full PLL, so maybe you should look into improving that.

I would be sharing some of my videos on the topic.

First: How to be sub 20

Second: How to practice. I still do these techniques while practicing.

Rest after that is just going slow and looking ahead. Drilling your last layers algs and improving your cross.

Learn to do all the F2L cases so well that you don't have to look at the pieces you are currently solving and so well that you don't have to even THINK of the pieces you are solving. After that lookahead will start developing naturally since you can scan around the cube while your hands automatically execute correct moves.

Also 5s for PLL with full PLL seems too much. Drill algs/find better algs so you can execute all algs in sub-3 first and then later sub-2.

Also cross can be quite easily executed in 2s IF you can plan it completely in inspection.
Maybe practise BLD cross: Use as much inspection time you need and then close your eyes and solve the whole cross. Scramble again and repeat until you can succeed almost every time without hesitation...

That's my 2 cents but then again I still average ~15s so I'm not that fast. I'm more of a BLD guy...

Hai!
(other than to Go slow for lookahead)
Practice...

No need..
my lookahead is not gud
I find it useful

So, why you did not find this

No problemo.

yes my pll execution times are little slow as i have learnt full pll just 3 days ago

One question. How much do you practice per day? Because resting for long periods of time is often quite helpful (although seemingly counterintuitive).

Warm up a lot. (Duh!)

Get lookahead down, because that gets you sub-20. How, you may ask? Here are some new-ish ideas:
- Practice big cubes and tracking big cube pieces. (Also improves turning.)
- Try turbo-tracking: pick a random edge/corner on the cube and hand-scramble while tracking that same piece. You should start scrambling slowly and speed up as you get better.
- Practice FMC. Not only do you have to turn slowly, you also gain new knowledge in general.
- Walk yourself through solves and talk yourself through it. I do this a lot. Make sure you know EXACTLY what you're going to do and how.
- Video yourself solving the cube and watch it over a few times. You will notice a lot of mistakes that you may not have caught before.

If all else fails, why not learn another method?

Sounds like you just have a lot to learn and a lot of practicing to do.

Practice your cross slowly to learn faster solutions.

Take time to examine your F2L slowly and think of ways to improve. My average is around 13 seconds but I still find new ways to improve my F2L & cross solutions frequently. Keep in mind that you should learn to both insert and solve pairs from all different angles. Also, don't solve F2L with agls. Learn intuitive F2L.

Definitely learn full OLL and PLL.

Finally... PRACTICE!

Seriously, look-ahead and recognition are what make a cuber fast and it's really the only way to get fast.

Being sub-15 is really pretty easy assuming you're dedicated. Took me about 6 months of daily practice.

Are there any good fingertrick algorithms for inserting edges in the second layer in the beginners method? Thanks!

Just practice, many people who are sub-25 do the exact same thing that you do. I might not happen the next day, but you just have to put time in and you'll get faster. You don't need any more algs, just solve. Hope this helps. :)
