Looking for a algorithm for OLL parity for the 4x4 that does'nt effect the centers only the edge.
Im also looking for a 2-cycle for centers
For OLL parity-
I know that one does indeed exist, however I had trouble finding one when I thought I needed one. I am assuming you are trying to figure out parity for edges, and there is actually a nice algorithm: l' U2 l' U2 F2 l' F2 r U2 r' U2 l2
It swaps two edges across from each other on the right. any time you have a connected pair, just use your regular parity alg(Assuming you solve centers first)
If you: Dont solve centers first or Do need a pure oll parity:
do your regular parity alg followed by R U R' U x5. This is a 180 center twist for U, the one that is almost always flipped in a parity alg.
For 2-cycle of Centers
This is actually pretty easy. Its called U2 method, or really its just a 3 cycle between your buffer, an already solved piece of the same color, and the target. It is generally pretty easy if it is on the E layer, but slightly more difficult if it is on D. Im going to post this and then put in the edits how to do each.

Edits:
for centers: for all purposes here, we are swapping Urb with x. All you do is set up your center to Ulf without disturbing the rest of the U face, do a U2, undo the setup, do another U2. This is generally done by doing l/l' or f/f'. For one of your 4 centers on each of the e faces, you need to do U2 setup U2 unsetup. ill just put the setups for each center in the second edit. For D face, I do the "alg" for Dlf, just done with a D/D'/D2 first. Any of the U2 first are marked B
Edit 2:
Actually, I just have time for two faces, F and one center of D. I only did F because the other E faces are similar concepts.
F:
ru: l' u2 l
rd: f' d' f
lu: f u' f
ld: B; r d2 r'
D:
fl: l B d2 B' l'

Thank you very much!

Or home depot; Hearing protection. That is where mine are from, they are rated ~30 decibels or so. When competition comes, Im going to also get the in ear kind which are usually desposable and higher rating (like 35). I dont know how they stack, but 35 decibel cancellation in ear and 30 decibel over ear = completely oblivious cuber.

Thanks, but I need them by Saturday :/ Might get them later though.
Anybody know where I can get some headphones not online?

If you need them by Saturday then just buy some disposable earplugs from Walmart/Target. If you're even slightly serious about BLD then you really should invest in a good pair of earmuffs and a good pair of re-usable earplugs.

Remember that you cannot use noise canceling headphones in competition. You can, however, use noise reducing earmuffs. If you walk into a store and ask for "noise canceling" headphones, they'll happily show you to the fancy electronic headphones that actively block ambient sound (these are not allowed in competition).

Chris could you explain why they aren't allowed? Is it a problem with not being able to hear the judge or something?

2i) While competing, competitors must not use sound equipment, other electronic equipment (like walkmans, dictaphones or additional lighting).

They could be used to cheat.

MultiBLD competition questions:

As the stackmat timer only goes up to 10 min:
- How can the competitor track time during an official competition? In order to start executing in time…
- How exactly is the time recorded above 10 min? Do say “stop” or “done” or whatever to the judge holding the stopwatch?

This is actually my first BLD event but regular BLD is only on Sunday and I can only compete on Saturday.

The judge should place the stopwatch down so just look over at it. And yeah just tell them when you're done.

Hi,
Me and my partner want to get serious at Team Blind. We use beginner's method with 3LLL. The reason why we use beginner's method is because we can't find a way to effectively communicate F2L to the person being blindfolded. What are your methods for doing this?

Edit: We average ~2:10ish.

First 4bld attempt will be Sunday. Just to clarify things

Is this fine?
Memo centers, edges, then corners.

Execute corners (fix corner parity with parity alg then a PLL (T))
Execute centers (commutators). No parity here
Execute edges (parity at the end if I have it)

For 5bld what do you guys do in terms of steps
Are all the commutators for + centers 8 movers? Like, will I need a setup?
Same with x centers.
What parity algs do I need to know? Which steps of the solve?
