Cool Indeed,So whats the best edge memo technique if -

1) If I use visual corners, memo corners later and execute them first

2) If I use sounds for corners, memo corners later and execute them first

3) Letter pair for corners, memo them first and execute them last.

1) I would definitely say letter pair sounds.

2) Probably letter pair sentences/phrases or images/journey

3) Letter pairs is not really descriptive enough. You could mean letter pair sounds, letter pair phrases/sentences, or letter pair images/journey. If you don't know the difference between these then see my stickied thread for an explanation.

So, Sorry if this is bad Forum Behavior but:

Bump:
What is the easiest way to solve the + centers of a 5x5? Like, without the use of commutators, that is. If worst comes to worst, I will use commutators, but I dont enjoy thinking about center comms. I use U2 for x centers, but U2 doesnt work so well with + centers.

hmm.. if you wouldnt mind, could you explain that a little? I do not have my 5x5 in front of me, but I know that > 1/2 the cube, its an a perm, and <1/2, like 2 layer, would result in no centers being permuted..

If you might be talking about the small edges ( I know, I am terrible with names), I do use bh for that; I am very used to those. I just do not want to waste a solve because I forgot to undo a setup move for center comms (Which I do frequently)

Rw U Rw' U' Rw' F Rw2 U' Rw' U' Rw U Rw' F' swaps UBR-URF and the 2 wings and x-center around them. It also swaps Ur and Ul. So for example, Ur->Lb->Fl would be E l' WideTperm l E then l' WideTperm l.

Just setup to Ul and do the alg, but obviously you can't mess up UL, Ubr, Urf, UBr, UBR, RUb, UR, URf, URF, FUr.

It's like Old Pochmann edges.

Ohh ok thank you :D

If you used tape or an equivalent to bandage a 4x4x4 could you use it in MultiBLD?

As I read the rules, I would think it perhaps should be allowed, as long as it has been appropriately bandaged to behave exactly like a 3x3x3 and has no way to distinguish a piece from another similar piece (so that all joined dedges are indistinguishable from each other by feel, as well as all centers). But if I were delegate at such a competition, I would really dislike someone trying that, and would be uncomfortable allowing it. So I would suggest: please don't try that in a competition. Find another cube somehow.

What is the easiest way to solve a 4x4x4 blindfolded? I known Classic Pochmann and M2, but I still don't grok commutators.
Just like there are multiple methods for 3x3 blindfolded solving like Old pochmann,M2,3oP,DIADEM,turbo etc

How many are there for 4x4 blindfolded?

Perhaps the easiest methods are U2, r2, and then whatever for corners.
I simply heard all 3 of these and figured it out from there; its more fun like that, but if you need it, search up bldmasters (Sorry, Idk who that is) youtube channel, he has r2 guide on there as well as parity. As for U2, just search on youtube for U2 4x4 blindfold

Then again you say how many.
For centers, there is most likely:
U2 (like M2)
Comms
Algorithmic 1 swap
For Edges:
r2 (Like M2)
Comms
Algorithmic 1 swap
For corners:
just like a 3x3 cept for the possible parity

Hope that answers the question

Yah I agree with Mike; I would really dislike it if someone did that. Think about if it wasnt taped, you could avoid parity by using pll parity (Oh the irony) instead of T perms, J perms, and Y perms
With it taped, there is always a possibility that it is taped improperly, and it just isnt really... great for competition

Whenever I do multi bld, I usually use a 4x4 or a 5x5 because I dont have that many 3x3s. Our Club at tj has a 12 pack of crappy cubes that I sometimes use like in my 6/6 today, but I cant get good tps on them at all. I am not joking in the fact that They suck... I mean 22*60/6/20/8 = 22/16=1. .....

But in comp, try to borrow someones cubes or something. You could also just stock up on like F2s, C2s, and Dayans, but mostly F2s as they are cheaper.

I am not one hundred percent sure about algorithmic one swap, but I mean like T perms and J perms for 3x3 edges, or Y perms for corners. Its a similar concept; two get swapped without much else getting changed. I do not know the algorithm that you might use; Mike, Chris, Etc might be a better person to ask.

As for the first part, I couldnt really tell you. All fast people use commutators, but Then again that is like saying all fast people for 3 blind use commutators, which is not true.

I like U2 cause of the simplicity; I seem to always forget the order and rotation for setup moves when using commutators on centers. I suppose it has to do with practice, but I dont have the time right now, Im already learning oll, ep,eg0,1,2, eo, cs, some pyraminx algs, F2ll (And the list goes on) I have found that math class is a useful time to learn these.

So I have a question for you guys: What is the strangest journey you have? I have been thinking about making some miniature sized ones for a while (Mentioned it in the Bld discussion a while ago)
For instance, I could walk around on a lamp that I look at practically every day. I could go in and out of a computer with ease. I currently mainly use a path that I have from my house to my elementary school (Use to walk every day, so many land marks, probably at least 60 in the first 15 feet, not exaggerating one bit. There are 8 car doors, 8 wheels, 10 window panes, 8 door nobs, multiple levels of a tree with distinct features, a land marker, 8 windows on my house, 4 chairs, the door way, 8 posts with distinct features, and a bunch of other stuff), a path through my current classes (I know, not a good idea as they will change), A path around my house (From my room upstairs), A path through my Girlfriends old house and new house (She moved like a month ago), A walk around the trailers through the tennis court and out on the track at our school, A walk through our garden (Also a bunch as we have a really nice garden), a trip in the garage(Self explanatory, its huge and has lots of places, including another car), and there are a few more that are boring, and would make the list go on too far.

I enjoy using cars, as it is easy to walk the journey with them. The angles, lighting, and colors are all very different on them, and provide Gold places for images.I can often put images in their, and as I open the door, I am surprised to see it when it opens. I still remember this really really fun picture of the classic http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/oo279/Fotical/smiley.png face (XD for me) with the words NAR coming out of it cause i forgot my NR xD.

Id love to hear from you guys about this :D

Edit: Oh and let me know if this is too off topic, ill delete the post

Strangest journey I have? Food court in my local Chinatown.

Korean BBQ place
Korean Ginseng Kicken Place
Fried-porkchop place
Weird Taiwanese place
Awesome Laksa place
Decent Cantonese place
Cantonese BBQ Place
Crappy Japanese place
Awesome Vietnamese place
Place where you buy drinks.

Must have eaten there 500 times. Best Laksa anywhere (Place number 5).
