Yes, I routinely go over the cubes after I've memorized them all, and check any things I'm not sure about.

In fact, once solving, you're even allowed to solve the cubes a bit at a time, or go back to cubes you've already tried to solve and fix them, as long as you're still wearing the blindfold. Some people do orientations first on all cubes, then go back and do the rest.

Are we allowed something like drinks up on podium when doing multi?

And how do most people generally group cubes (a large amount) right before solving?

And right now I review after every 3 cubes (last one I don't review)..what have you good multi'ers found to be effective?

I don't think there's a restriction against drinks, but I'm not sure. I would never want one because I'd be afraid I'd need a restroom break in the middle. :)

You can group them however you like. I arrange them in rows of 4, at the moment; I've done other things at other times, but for now I like the 4-cube rows.

I review each pair of cubes, because I put a pair of cubes in a single room; I find it works okay for me. Then I'm ultra-careful, so I review them all from beginning to end before I start. And I do as you say you do - I memorize the last cube at the very end as if it were just an ordinary 3x3x3 BLD and then go, so I don't include it in my review. That's why I prefer to do odd numbers of cubes now.

I wouldn't be drinking much, it'd only be for caffeine if I need it, plus drinking helps pass thetime. 2 weeks ago I did a 6 cube multi and I had to go to bathroom mid memo! My parents were ..freaked out to see me have my ear stuff and my blindfold on..they've never seen me wear it. I learned from that mistake :p (I had been drinking a lot that day..~ 1 gallon water)

I used to put a pair of cubes per room but I found that (since I don't use one location for edges, one flipped, one corners, etc..) it just cramped me up and slowed me down. So now I do 1 cube per room. It definitely gives me a speed boost and I don't need to remember during solving where exactly I cut off to start the next cube (since I would just put up imaginary borders between my images)

Can't wait for Nationals :D.

I did bring water and energy drink several times while doing multi in competition, nobody ever complained. However I suggest that you don't rely on caffeine. You're one hundred times better off with a good night's sleep.

Yeah I agree with that, although later in the hour my brain starts to perform slower and I just need a little kickstart :D.

Does anyone good use linkedlists?

Hey, I was just wondering- does anyone who does large amounts of bld use linked lists instead of journey? I probably will learn it sometime, and I remember seeing Chris' post about switching to journey from linked lists, but I really do not see the advantage to journey... is it just less thinking and more "engraving"? I tried linked lists out for the first time two weeks ago on the bus ride home with my friend feeding me objects (It would be letters, but I don't have my letters down yet.) At about 15 minutes into it, he had to leave and I had memorized 56 objects. Now, the reason for the length was his inability to come up with things xD. I know 15 minutes is pretty slow for 56 items. But basically, is switching Necessary?

P.s.- Ryan, nice on the 8.59

@minime: From my experience with linked lists it is very fast for single solves. Even for doing 2 solves in a row at home, with no pressure, it is fairly good. I abandoned linked lists after my very first time doing big cubes BLD in competition because it is susceptible to memorization interference far more than journey methods are.

If you plan to do 1, maybe 2, solves in a competition (or just at home), but no more, then linked lists is a very fast and easy method to use. If you plan to do any more than this, then journeys or roman rooms are the way to go.

My biggest problem (and probably the reason I havent had a success) is that I sometimes miss letters. Like lets say I have like 8 images so far in my memo for edges. But at the end I need a pure 2flip to solve it. Is there some trick to going through and making sure that I have the right amount of edges memod? Now that I post it, I was thinking maybe like I count how many edges arent solved in the beginning of me memo'ing and check via that? I was thinking about getting big into BLD soon. I have my LPL done after all.

You need to solve 11 edges (the last one solves itself).
Each time you have a solved edge to begin with, you take one away from the total.
Each time you break into a new cycle, add one.
Say you have a solve with 10 edges memoed, one edge done and 2 cycles broken into. You then _should_ have 11 - 1 + 2 = 12 edges to memo, and you know that you're not done.

Yeah, the hard part is finding the last cycle. It's even worse on big cubes. I'm not sure what the fastest way is to do it; I just check a spot I don't think I shot to.
