How do you make sure you've solved parity after edges for blind(OP)?

This belongs in the "Blind OAQT".

As long as you have odd numbers of letters for corners and edges you have parity. So if you solve edges first you then do parity then your corners. If you do corners first(like me) you then do your parity then solve your edges.

Edges-Parity-Corners
Corners-Parity-Edges

As long as your sure you have parity and you do it correctly, the UB and UR edges will be switched which will able you to go in to corners using Y perms.

BTW parity is y' standard Ra perm y.

How can I get better at OP corners? I use the Y-perms from Zane's tutorial, targeting RFD. I normally see the cancellations too. Is there a good way to transition into 3-cycle. Is it a good Idea to start adding pure commutators?

2 questions:

1. What's the best way to go about learning big cube bld?

2. I've been using corner OP for a while now, and considering I can't get particularly fast with it, I've decided to switch. But the thing is, a lot of the methods I've seen have a bajillion setup moves that would just get confusing. But the thing about BH (which for some reason i keep reading as "back-hand", no i don't know why) is that it has a bajillion algorithms. So, the question: would it be best to do a 2-cycle method with heaps of setup moves, or a 3-cycle method with heaps of algorithms?

I'm leaning towards [STRIKE]Backhand[/STRIKE] BH for now, because I want to get into 3-cycle, but I just want your opinion.

You can learn M2 for edges, never need more than 3 move RU/LU setups (other than sexy move :P)

Go straight into BH if you want though, it's just way more difficult to learn.

Already use M2.

Thanks for the advice, though. Both of you. *goes off to learn backhand i mean beyer-hardwick/bh*

letters? :)
each corner sticker and edge sticker have one letter assigned to it, which leads you to ~11 letters for edges and ~7 letters for corners - total of ~18 letters to remember.
to assign letters you'll need 22 of them for edge stickers (so, not including buffer piece) and 7*3 =21 letters for corner stickers (without buffer).

Letter-pairs cuts the number of words / images you need to remember in half

inb4 visual: when you use viual memo there would be nothng to "write down"

Gradually adding pure commutators is a great way to transition into 3-cycles.

I'm on the hunt for a good blindfold. By good I mean comfortable, straps on tight and impossible to see out of.

Im using one from a chemist but I can peek out of the bottom and it's too loose.

Do you guys know of any good places to get one online or somewhere in Australia?

I think that would only happen during corners cos I use freestyle and its pretty easy to make a mistake.

I use M2 edges and usually I do r2 R2, and sometimes I may overturn and do M3 instead :p. But I have been really careful recently, and I do M2 with middle+ring finger, so its safer, but still lotsa DNFs. :(

Don't really make that mistake often, but sometimes I can do a CRAZY amount of rotations during corners and still finish with the right orientation. So doesn't really matter.

Do several sighted solves, just to make sure your execution is correct. Once you've ruled that out, the only thing left is a memo issue.
(Haha, one of my friends got DNFs for months before realize he had an alg wrong. One sighted solve would have revealed this.)

I have decided to start learning 3-style, and I am looking for a good method to memorize the corners with. I have used Pochmann and visual memo before.

Hi guys, in 4BLD what commutators do you use for these cases? (UFr-UBl-DFl) ; (UFr-UBl-DBr) ; (UFr-UBl-DLb) and (UFr-UBl-DRf), any help will be much apreciated.

1. U r U' l2 U r' U' l2

2, 3 & 4: Just to D move setups to Dfl and solve.

If I am wrong someone please correct me to as I am new to 4 BLD too :p. But AFAIK the algs are correct.
