Notice that Ful and Bur are interchangeable with u2. You can insert Ubl into Bur with r'U2r.

u2 r'U2r u2 r'U2r

Memorization order, what is better/recommended?
Memorizing in the same order as you solve, or the opposite way?
(for example, memo edges, memo corners, solve corners, solve edges vs. memo corners, memo edges, solve corners, solve edges)

Depends on the memorization method I guess. If you use audio for corners, then memo edges first then corners and execute corners first then edges. Because audio lasts for around 20 seconds.

It can last longer if you keep repeating it to yourself, while memorising/solving something else.

Letters as in audio? Or letters as in images? If you use visual for corners, then they should stick in your mind longer than audio. It's really whatever you feel comfortable doing. It's going to about the same move count. Just do whatever you feel comfortable doing -- once you get accustomed to one way, it will work out fine for you.

Time for round 2 at it. Very very happy I found this try #2 in hopes for a cancellation.

YESSSS!. I had the case setup from my previous try so I kinda cheated in the sense that I had visual help..?

Nice, well done :)

My solutions:
1) 9 moves: D' F2 D' B' D F2 D' B D2
2) 8 moves: F R' F' L2 F R F' L2
3) 10 moves: U' L B2 L' U L U' B2 U L'
4) 9 moves: D' R2 D' L D R2 D' L D2
5) 9 moves: R2 F2 R' B2 R F2 R' B2 R'

Well, that was a lot harder than I thought it would be. 2) through 4) were done with visual help, and 5) was the only one that I got fast enough to honestly use in a solve. Fun, though!

EDIT: I tried a corners-only BLD right after this and immediately found an A9! :D

Looks pretty solid, but your first alg does a different cycle though. I think I can tell what you're doing to solve the case as listed, but check your turn directions. Good hunting for the A9 cases, and congrats on finding the A9 during your real solve too! :)

Chris, would you consider it cheating if I had someone (Eric for example) setup the case and hten me visually solve it? Just going off the stickers is too hard for me to visualize.

No, I think visual is fine. Any practice is good practice I'd say.

1) z'x' RD2R U' R'D2R U R2 (A9, optimal 9 moves)
2) x UR'U' L2 URU' L2 (pure, optimal 8 moves)
3) x'y' R'F U2 F'RFR' U2 RF' (cyclic shift, optimal 10 moves) [ x2z' U2 R'U2R' D RU2R' D' R2 U2 non-optimal (speed optimal) 11 moves ]
4) z' R'U2R' D RU2R' D' R2 (A9, optimal 9 moves)
5) x' R2 D2 R'U2R D2 R'U2R' (A9, optimal 9 moves)

Aron, you're pro so I'm actually looking over your lists to see how you execute them to give me some ideas on how to get faster :) Your algs are fine of course, and it's cool how you execute the 1st, 3rd (speed-optimal version), 4th algs. For the most part we use the same algs, but you've really even optimized your executing angle for the optimal algs! Cool stuff!

What method should I learn for bld apart from M2/R2?

Currently averaging about 2:30 with a PB of 1:37, average memo is about 1:20, memo on the 1:37 was 38 seconds. Using old pochmann for edges/corners

How is is that you label 4x4 edges? There are too many to give edge sticker a name, and every edge is interchangeable with another edge. I'm confused.

Also, is there a guide somewhere defining how to name each of the pieces on big cubes? Like Xcenters, +centers, tcenters, dredges, tredges, etc.?

Orientation doesn't exist for 4x4x4 wings, so you don't need to label every sticker.

Some of my rotations and algorithms are still bad. For example UBR->BUL->LDB. My rotation for that is y2z' or x2z' (basically it's done as 'one' rotation' so I'm not sure how to write it). Anything that uses 2 rotations (or a 180 degree rotation) is 'bad'. I've still got to learn good algs for per specials and some columns/cyclic shifts.
