Actually, there aren't any algorithms for intuitive F2L. The meaning of learning intuitive F2L is not learning any algs rather completing the F2L by your own.
Here is the video I learned from:
Or you can watch this to get more familiar with the CFOP method:

Help on f2l

IM currently using basic f2l were you make a pair and insert it I've heard of cases were you can solve f2l allot faster and can anyone post algs or like me to any good videos?

I have been cubing for about a two weeks and have gotten the beginners method down to a consistent 30 to 45 seconds. I notice that forming the cross and putting in the corners takes most of my time. is there a place with a very good tutorial on the cross and f2l with explanations on why you do things a certain way?
I can learn with just the algorithms but I learn better with the reason why I should do it a certain way.

Hey I'm curious if you could explain your steps and algs used for the 2nd and 3rd layer. I also just started about 2 weeks ago and instead of picking one guide to learn from I looked at every guide I could find to learn the beginners method. I quickly switched to F2l so I might as well keep working at that but for the top layer I'd like to get faster before switching to 2 look OLL and PLL. It seems like the top layer takes me forever. Here are the steps I pieced together..

F R U R' U ' F' to get yellow cross (if I have an L shaped I put it in the bottom right and do f R U R' U' f')

Once I have the cross I spin the top layer until I get 2 correct edge pieces. Then I use R U R' U R U2 R' to swap the left and bottom edge pieces.

Then I look for one edge that's correct and put it in either the back left or back right depending if the other edges need to move clockwise or counter clockwise. These are the 2 algs I use then
R B' R F2 R' B R F2 R2
L' B L' F2 L B' L' F2 L2

Once all 4 corners are in place I put one that needs to be oriented in the bottom right and then do R' D' R D until it's oriented correctly and then do U turns on the top layer to bring other corners to the bottom right and continue with R' D' R D until they are all done.

I see lots of people getting 40 seconds with the beginners method but it doesn't seem like I can come close with the steps I use. My PB is 1:15 and average around 1:30. I've used f2l more than I have the beginners method and I picked it up pretty quick but the top layer takes me way to long.

I'd def appreciate and ideas for a faster beginners method to solve the top layer. I see some people orient corners then permute edges then finally permute corners.

Thanks!!

Hello my name is Aaron, I have been having some trouble with F2L lately. The method I use is by Noah Richardson and how it works is you place in the edge piece and then do a short algorithm to insert the corner. One F2L Pair takes me 3.50 - 6.18 seconds. Please answer because my times have been going down lately, I also have a comp coming up soon. Thanks

Well I have, its just I need my F2L to become more faster.

Should I post a video on how I do it?

Yeah thats what my plan is going to be now. I will use intuitive F2L for most of it but for weird corner spots ill just use algorithms.

Lacking in F2L

Hey SpeedSolving community! I started cubing about 2 months ago and I absolutely love it. My PB is 43 seconds and about half of that time is F2L. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with reducing my F2L times (I use beginners method for pairing). I've watched videos on F2L tricks but they never stick no matter how long I practice. Any tips on creating my own tricks/memorizing tricks? Thanks in advance. :)

Cross ao5: 6.35
F2L ao5: 21.53 (I'm bad)
OLL ao5: 3.989
PLL ao5: 3.677

I'm confused how your various ao5's total less than your PB.

I figure F2L is mostly about practice (and "a lot of it" as badmephisto said) but I only know intuitive F2L and the Triple-Sexy Case so I'm no genius at it myself. As you say, there's plenty of vids on youtube to dig into but I'd suggest just picking 1 or 2 cases a day and jamming them into your muscle memory. When I was learning 2-look OLL and 1-look PLL I was only learning 1 case a week. 43 seconds after 2 months is about where I was at.

How long does it take to be good at f2l

Hi guys, I'm new at this forum, I want to ask a question on how long does it take to be good at f2l. my pb is 30.50 and sorry for using th wrong forum as I am new to this.lol

It depends on how much you practice, and who you learn from. I learned from rubiksplace.com and crazybadcuber's youtube vids. It took me a little less than a month to learn how to insert the pairs intuitively but it would have gone faster if I just kept on watching crazybadcuber's videos, they are really good so I recommend you check them out.

EDIT: 100th post :)
