F2L

Hello everyone!!!!
I need to know where can I get good advance F2L videos...
And also OLL which leads to easy pll cases..

Hello, I come looking for f2l/lookahead help.

I've been pretty stuck at around 20 secs, for around 6 months now. I think the real problem I have when it comes to F2L is locating peices I can't see. I try going slow, but no matter how slow I go, I get to a situation like this (2 angles):

I can turn the cube and look, but 2 problems 1. I'm still turning the cube and when i rotate back I've missed stuff (if that makes sense) and 2. obviously it's not good to rotate generally.

I'm ok at tracking pairs once I've found them, inserting without looking at my the pair is easy.

Can someone good tell me what they do in these situation...feel like i'm banging my head against the wall sometimes >_<. Thanks.

you probably can't see pieces because you're not giving yourself enough vision, solve your pairs slowly and into the back slots, and always make sure you never have your front left and front right slots solved, you want solved slots in the back, if you solve the front ones first you'll have to try and solve more harder cases into the back and then end up doing more rotations or y2's

try targeting back slots and left slots if your RUF is better than your LUF

also you can solve the green/orange pair into the front left slot by doing either R' F R2 U' R' U2 F' or R' F R F' U2 L' U L when you do a y'

Thanks for the response. This is something I'm definately conscious of, but I'll be stricter on it and see if it helps.

So you can work out that is the green/orange corner by which way round the orange and the green are...but would you actually use that in a solve? I can't identify like that anywhere near fast enough.

Hey guys, I've been cubing for ~4 months now and I want to get better. What should I do to improve? Is my F2L ok? And if it is what should I do to improve my cross?

woooow man...slow down that F2L. You turn too fast and you don't lookahead. This tends to lead to large pauses and inefficient solutions. Turn slow with ZERO pauses then gradually speed up. Your Cross to F2L transition needs works too, try to minimise or eliminate this (but this is difficult), make sure you plan out all 4 cross pieces in inspection. Your LL is good.

How should I Improve My Time?

Hi All,
I have been speedcubing for about a week and a half now and my average is 1.10 min and Pb is 51 secs I'm not sure if this is good but I just don't know how to improve my time. I am using the fridrich method and need to improve my F2L. Any tips on how to improve F2L at the moment my F2L average is like 40 seconds.

Thanks,

Toby.

Just keep practising, do F2L efficiently, learn the 2LLL algs and don't get sloppy. Seriously. At only a week of practise and at 1.10 you will improve just through practise.

help with cross and f2l

I have been cubing for about a two weeks and have gotten the beginners method down to a consistent 30 to 45 seconds. I notice that forming the cross and putting in the corners takes most of my time. is there a place with a very good tutorial on the cross and f2l with explanations on why you do things a certain way?
I can learn with just the algorithms but I learn better with the reason why I should do it a certain way.

My advice is learn edge keyhole or f2l, keyhole is really nice for beginners tho. try solving the cross on either the left or right side of the cube instead of the top, and continue holding it like this throughout the solving of the corners, this will help with look ahead and speed. good luck! Practise is best advice. Try to do cross on D layer, learn F2L and practise it. Maybe try Roux or ZZ they are both nice. I personally would love to be Rouxer, but CFOP master race...

I noticed there are multiple algs for each F2L case. How do decide which one to use and why are there so many?

I'd recommend learning intuitive F2L because you can look-ahead much better with it.
But, if you still want to learn algorithmic F2L then you might want to choose an alg which you can fingertrick best with. There are multiple algs because they might have different effects on the cube, For example, when you have a formed pair in the front, you can either do y L' U L or you can do F R' F' R which will orient the LL edges in a different way.
Hope I helped :)

That really clears things up! Do you know where I could find intuitive algs on the Wiki? I already know where the algorithmic F2L cases are.
