Hey guys,

I have now just started back onto cubing after like 8 months break and I remember that CRC and Jig-a-loo were some of the best lubes. (Behind Lubix that is.) But now I come back and I did some research and found that people say CRC and Jig-a-loo melt plastic and should only use 100% silicone. After that I did some more research and found that airsoft guns use lubes and are even more picky about their lubes. (Being 100% silicone.) Can I use Air soft lube? Or just something like this?

If not, what should I use?

P.S. This is my first post so sorry if I did something wrong.

I think you should try the differential oil first.

The 30k will be all right, because the 50k can make your cube too gummy.

Thanks for the quick reply. Also, what is differential oil? 100% silicon? And what does the #s mean. Sorry I'm asking so many questions.

Pretty much the same.
It's better to go with diff oil than expensive Lubix in my opinion because they are pretty much the same stuff.

And you can buy them syringes that lubix has at other places. Just look for luer lock tips and syringes :) That is what they are called in any case.

I saved the lubix syringes and tips, and the 50k traxxas works peachy with that. I had thinner lube, Izo, which came in a thinner syringe and narrower tip, it now holds the Traxxas 10k, works peachy with that too.

Then tell me how much I must apply, because if I apply amount of lube that CBC does in his Zhanchi assembly video -my cube is just very slow, even after breaking in.

Take off the entire top layer of cubies, clean them all with a tissue, and also where you can reach on the cube that they were at. Then reassemble and break in again. If it is still too gummy, repeat. You'll find at some point in time it'll feel much better :)

If it is too gummy when applying I would say apply half of what you did before. It is all a matter of trial and error.

My v-cube4 even hates traxxas like lubes. I hope Maru will be satisfactory in the eyes of that demanding cube lol

There is a fine line between a decent amount of 50k lube and too much lube. If it's gummy then there's too much. I use much less than what CBC uses in his lubix tutorial when I'm using traxxas 50k. I've used this particular lube on all my cubes and have been very happy, but it took a while before I stopped adding too much lube to start out with.

OK - thanks !
I will try it - maybe it will work better this time.

I remember that this lube was working great on my GuHong v1 and 55mm ZC- now I can't get the same result...

PS: How many solves + - usually cube with diff oil needs to become "good" ?

For a good cube.. 1.

My primary color zhanchi was great out of the box with just a bit of lube. Same with my yellow main.

It really depends on the cube, not that much on the lube.

I was always thinking that the brand of the lube, and the lube itself makes the difference, not really the cube.

Okay, thanks guys I'm getting traxxas 50k and do I really need a stryinge? Could I just use the bottle?
