lube help

im new to cubing and never lubed or had lube for my cubes (exept for vaselin on a 1$ cube if that counts) and i want to buy my first lube to be used on a zhanchi a GH 2X2
SS 4X4 V3 and a SS 5X5
ive seen tons of different lubes and idk what i should get
ive seen theres some lubix replacements like traxxas and i would like to know if they are better compared to the silicon sprays that alot of ppl use, also, if they are, are they for 3x3's only or its good to use them for bigger cubes?
i just dont know if i should just head over to a hardware store and get some silicon spray thing or i should order traxxas from somewhere.
also, if traxxas is better, how much better?

I would recommend lube your cubes with Traxxas 50K, is very cheap and have the same effect as Lubix, I have been using it for about 2 months in all my cubes and is AMAZING! My SS 6X6 really sucks out of the box, once I put some lubix inside was GODLY! HAHAHA...
Obviously, differential silicione and Lubix will remain in comparison with silicone spray more time specifically in months.
You can get it at ebay for 10 dollar plus shipping or RC cars shop.

Sapir5522, I think what he meant to say was "Obviously differential oil and Lubix will remain for more months than silicone spray". So just that with Lubix and Differential oil you will have to relube less.

ive seen someone say it made his zhanchi and guhong gummy, and wiping it off didnt remove that feel, is this true?
im planning on getting it mainly for my zhanchi which should be here soon, and i dont want to ruin it straight away obviously

If you overlube it yes, it does become gummy. But if you don't like it you just have to wipe it out with toilet paper and do a few solves.

Lubing

Hey Guys

I have a ZhanChi and after I lubed it with Maru lube It turns amazing.
But the problem is the lube only lasts for about one day.
After that it just becomes sluggish.

Any help?

Thanks

Lubrication

Hi, I bought a Rubik's Ice Cube and it was quite stiff so i decided to lubricate it. I did all the normal things, I misaligned the layers and sprayed some silicone lubricant inside it. I then realigned the layers and moved it about. Is there anything I missed out? Anything I did wrong? Because it hasn't got any better, in fact I think it might have got worse. :(

The best way to lubricate with spray is as follows:
Disassemble the cube
lay out all pieces on a towel (with non-stickered sides facing up)
spray the cubies and let dry for a few minutes
reassemble the cube, and do several solves to work in the lube.

EDIT: oh, and before lubing, wipe down the pieces to make sure to grime or lube residue is on them. You should be lubing clean cubies.

I lubed my lanlan 2x2 with 30k diff oil and it slowed them down alot. I've tried wiping it out. Pulled it completely apart, wiped off the springs n screws. Cleaned the inside of the "center" pieces and wiped off all the other pieces but they're still slow n gummy.
What can I do to solve this problem?

I would actually wash the pieces or try to wipe them off as much as possible and keep using the cube (until the cube feels better). I overlubed my lan lan 2x2 and I just kept using it after trying to wipe off the pieces. It's getting slightly better every time I use it. Lesson learned: only use 1-2 tiny drops of diff oil on the pieces and don't bother lubing the core but if you want to lube the core put 1 TINY drop 2x the size of the period at the end of this sentence.
