What's the best way to use DNM-37? I'm trying to find a good way to put it in my Wuque without making it slow.
I just put a drop in each layer. It doesn't take effect nearly as fast as Maru, but after you break it in, it seems to always feel like you just put Maru in it.
For a few weeks, at least. I haven't had it that long.

I just got my new Gans 356 Air this past Saturday and have been using it everyday since. I just finished attempting to lube my cube around 1 hour before this thread is being posted. I removed all peices from the core except for the centers and laid them out on a clean sheet after dipping each in cold water to cleanse, I then sprayed over the peices from about 2 feet away with my Silicone Spray. I flipped the corner pieces and sprayed again to get both sides. I waited 15 minutes or so and places all pieces back onto the cube, I've been playing around with it now and it still feels a bit rough as if I just put the pieces back on. Did I mess up my new cube or do I just need to wait for the spray to settle in?

First thing's first, If u didn't remove the centers but put cold water on it, you're putting ur cube at risk for rusting. Secondly, from how u describe ur lubing process you probably way over-lubed your cube. Honestly the process does not have to be that tedious.

Here's a basic set up with ur silicone spray:

Take apart cube, clean off flash, worn out lube and anything that could impede performance with a paper towel

Put it back together, spray ur silicone spray between a corner and an edge inside the puzzle for just a fraction of time. A little bit does wonders.

Break in, enjoy.

I used to have a bunch of well broken-in Wt 5 in my Valk and it was gummy but very fast. I decided to go away from that feel after modding it with magnets. There is still Wt 5 in the core, but the pieces just have Lubicle Silk now. When I add Maru on top of the silk the feel is amazing, but it only lasts for a few hours and then it starts to dry out and get heavy. Do you think I would get a few weeks out of a combo of just Silk and DNM-37? Or do you normally use a silicone base lube to get that kind of longevity?

Also if you have some tips on how to lube a black Wuque, I need some suggestions. I just used my normal method of applying a light amount of Wt 5 to the pieces in every-other corner block. That method did wonders for my Aosu's but the Wuque doesn't like it. Even after a ton of break-in it's still pretty heavy.

i recomend puting wheight 2 on springs/hardware and the cubicals DNM37 on the plastic (2 to 3 drops ovcourse)

I did this with my weilong gts and it turns amazing now

I've never used silicone spray on a cube before, but I feel like it would increase the static friction on the Gans Air quite a bit due to the large flat surfaces.
If it's really just silicone, you're probably fine, just need to clean it out if the lube isn't doing well (though I'm not an expert on sprays). You don't need to go through that trouble to apply the lube, though -I just clean my cubes with paper towels, apply thicker lubes in a line on a corner or edge (while assembling), and drop thinner lubricants through the Florian cuts.

EDIT: I should probably ask, what specific spray are you using?

Apperantly silicone SPRAYS usually contain some sort of chemical that can eat away at plastic, and therefore your cube. I wouldn't reccomend it because I had the same issues with a popular silicone spray, jigaloo. Although, most cubers seemed to have used sprays back before cubing lubes came out, so there must be a way to make it work out at least OK. If you HAVE to use a spray, you should follow the instructions of a credible youtube video very carefully. You might be able to dry and clean the lube in a way that can do minimal damage to the cube.

I put Silk and DNM-37 in my Air UM about a week ago and it hasn't noticeably worn out yet, I think I'll need to clean the pocket lint out of it before I need to replace the lube normally.
I also put a small amount of Lubicle Speedy in it, but that's mainly because of the static friction due to the large, flat surfaces of the Air.

For the WuQue, I put a small amount of Lubicle Standard on the pivots, a line of Lubicle Speedy on each layer in one corner block, and three drops of Silk and DNM-37 between the layers. I think that, due to the decreased weight, smoother texture, and what seems like a softer plastic, the WuQue reacts relatively poorly to heavier lubricants as compared to the AoSu.

Cool thanks for the info. Very good observation on the lubrication response of the WuQue versus the AoSu.

Usually people put a line running along the middle of the surface of a corner or edge, more than that (especially with heavier silicone gel) is usually considered over-lubing. Over-lubing isn't necessarily bad, of course, in fact it's preferred sometimes (like with the Thunderclap, if I recall), but it's all preference.

You should absolutely lube the core, that's often the most important part. The Valk doesn't even have washers, so I'd say doubly so.

When you say "lube the core" does that mean just the part where the screw goes into the core or do I have to take everything apart and lube the screws too?

You don't actually touch the core itself, you lube the centers (which are technically part of the core).
The lubricant goes on the friction surface where the screw/spring meets the center. It's often used to reduce the grinding noise from an open-ended spring.

So... Apparently Silk is currently discontinued due to difficulty with sourcing the materials.
I really, really hope they find a better source soon, 'cause I don't like rationing my lubricants, and I use Silk a lot.

QiYi's M-lube does a decent job at making a cube drastically smoother, so much so that its very, very easy to make a cube feel overlubed and gummy. It doesn't quite "soften" the cube like silk does but it does dampen somewhat. I recommend you try it considering its only 1$. However I don't know how long it lasts, I only tried other's lube in my cubes that aren't my mains.

So note: I don't think it's fantastic, even though its good. Think of it as a poor man's silk.

So i posted a question here few weeks ago but the "answer" wasnt "satisfying"... I have tried many kinds of lubes but right now i am using Maru and Lubix, the problem is that even ONE day after lubing the puzzles, they become "dry" again and start clumping up? I know how to lube a cube (and not put too much lube in etc.) but it seems like no matter what i try, it will still dry up! Has anyone experienced this problem, and what did you do to fix it?

The Lubix shouldn't dry up, but Maru is very short-lived. It's a water-based lubricant, so the water evaporates and leaves a gunk behind, so people usually clean their cubes regularly and apply Maru every day (or few hours if you're using it a lot) to maintain it.

The Cubicle recently made DNM-37, which is like Maru except it lasts more than a week and it doesn't leave behind the gunk.

Hello, could someone please tell me what kind of lube is this milky-looking stuff in a small unmarked white bottle that came shipped with my YJ Chilong? I have no idea what it is or what to do with it. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like Maru. I usually put one drop in a random spot in my cube, and then flip the cube 180 degrees and put another drop in the opposite location. Then just turn the layers a bit to work the lube around the layers.

It just provides a bit of speed boost for a while and typically dries up in a day or so. Beware of overusing Maru as it can gunk up your cube as it dries out. Even when used correctly you should make a habit of wiping the cube out periodically to prevent buildup.

My question is a little weird:p.
But I need an answer(please???).
My grandfather had a blood test in which the blood collection boy left the blood syringe on my sofa. And,I took it:p:D.
Can I use it for lubing??(after washing it?)
