Sorry to quote my own post. I have ordered TheCubicle weigth 1 and 2 (still on their way) but, as I do more and more solves with my Chilong lubed with wt 3 it is becoming a bit less sticky to the point to be almost good for me. Not sure if I put a tad too much lube or it is just spreading better as I do some hundreds of solves.

I think weight 2 is gonna have the perfect density for me. Will tell you when I try it.

Also, does anyone know if ambient temperature has an impact on stickyness? I mean, now it's winter here. Will my cube feel faster during summer with the same density lube?
Yes, temperature has a good deal of effect. If for some reason my cube gets really warm with the silicone lube, it's wonderful. But if you're cubing in room temperature, it will only be affected for like 10 min

By the way, I have not yet come to the point where I have to re-lube any of the cubes I lubed with silicone. How long does it last more or less? You seem to have more experience than me in that regard. Thanks!

Yeah, that's pretty much how it is.
In my thread about differential oil, I talk about how it pretty much lasts for months. I used to do at least 100 solves a day, and didn't have to relube for almost a year.
Actually, the only reason I did relube, was because I kept thinking "There's no way this is lasting this long. It's probably just in my head that I don't need to relube. I'll relube just in case."

This is why diff oil lasts for a long time.

Thanks for the feedback. I am pretty happy that I changed from Maru to silicone oil. My Cubicle weigth 1 & 2 syringes are on their way and I can't wait to try weight 2. For now I'm more than satisfied with the performance of cubicle silicone but, of course, I'll have to wait and see how long it lasts, etc. For now, the 2 cubes I lubed with wt 3, the more I use them the better they feel.

The feel is also very consistent. The worst thing about Maru lube, now that I look into it in restrospect, was not that it lasted only one day but that, e.g. if I was going to do an average of 100 and I lubed right before starting, by the end of the average the feeling of the cube was already significantly different (drier) than at the beginning of it.

So I've recently gotten all weights of Cubicle Silicone Lube. I've been using Weight 4 on the pieces, but should I use Weight 1, 2, or 3 for the pieces on my Weilong (and in the future my AoLong)? My Weilong has been dry for ages and it's worked fine, but now I'm starting to hate the unlubed feel. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Yep, that's usually the experience of most people who switch to Silicone Diff Oil.
I should've mentioned, I use 50k Traxxas.

Yeah, a lot of people talks about Traxxas but in Spain I cannot find it :) I'm sure in some R/C store I could find something similar to that but I have still have to locate one. For now I'm ordering those 5cc syringes from TheCubicle. It is probably more expensive but I will not be lubing that many cubes and I've used like 0,3-0,4cc to lube 2 cubes so with a 5cc syringe I have enough for 12-15 cubes. If it lasts in the cube as much as you told me I can lube all my 3x3s for a year with that :)

CRC Silicone spray bad? ( sorry but no reply in lubrication thread )

hey so i got the CRC silicone spray and i think it was going to ruin my aolong. At first it was locked up as if it were glued. after working it in, it was faster but not even close to it when it was dry. so i thought ok this might be an okay lube, but then my cube started smelling like burnt plastic and i could see some of the plastic wearing away. i see on this site that it says its a great lube but I'm like wtf and it even says DO NOT USE ON PLASTIC. oh and by the way.. this was only the second time lubing it. Does anyone else have this problem? is there a better lube i can get without ordering online? my contribution is DONT USE CRC silicone. any thoughts?

You can buy silicone oil in hobby shops that sell R/C cars, Traxxas differential oil is recommended. Silicone oil is what most people use and what the dedicated cube lubes are made of (except maru and zlube).

I think the propellent in the spray might be the culprit. I have read that the cube has to be dismantled before applying and then the pieces left for some time to dry before mounting the cube again, but I haven'tr tried myself so, take this with a grain of salt.If you want something safer use silicone oil.

There is nothing wrong with Silicone spray. Just make sure you buy one that says it can be used on plastic. As Blueberry recommends, Traxxas 50k oil is also very nice and it's what I use too.

How do people lube their non-weilong cubes with Traxxas 50k/weight 5(I think they're close?) without it becoming exceedingly gummy? I tried lubing an aolong with weight 2 and it gummed up...

Did you put too much lube on it? It happened to my with a Sulong (I used weight 3) but after removing a bit and doing some hundred solves it has become faster, still not fast enough for a really fast cuber, but almost great for me.

Just got my Traxxus 30k in the mail today. How should I go about lubing my 3x3 with it exactly, can someone direct me to a good tutorial or tell me what you'd disassemble and what you would lube?
