Why am I not sub 30

Not that I'm that much further ahead of you, I'm averaging around 25s at the moment and always aiming for sub 20 solves.

These are the things I've been focusing on to get where I am right now:

1. Full PLL. There are only 21 algs to learn and Badmephisto did a great job of breaking them down to make them easier to learn ... http://badmephisto.com/pll.php

2. Full OLL. While not totally necessary, it does help knowing more of the OLL's. I only learn a few at a time and then continue with 2look. I currently know around 40 or so, so I still use 2look a lot.

3. F2L tricks. Find some YouTube videos that show some tricks and tips for certain F2L cases. Knowing a couple of quick algs can speed up your F2L. I've been doing F2L intuitively and then throw in a few quick algs for certain cases that I recognise often.

4. Slow down. It's totally counter intuitive and I'm struggling with this one atm. You have to slow down to get faster. Turning slower will help your look ahead, this is exactly what I'm trying to do atm. It's not easy though, but then again that could just be me struggling.

5. Limit cube rotations where possible. Learn how to insert pairs from any side

I'm sure some more experienced cubers could give some other advice, but this is what I've focused on. Sub 20 is calling my name .. I can feel it :)

Thanks this should really help break me through sub 30

Haven't improved in 6 weeks, I need serious help with this

I haven't improved my times in around 6 weeks. If anything, they have gotten worse. I'm practicing pretty much every day, but I keep getting bad averages and I'm way too frustrated. I have a competition in 3½ weeks, and I really want to end this dumb plateau thing before then.

Once I had something like that, whenever I had a bad average, I just told myself to calm down, and just try again. Just keep on trying, you'll be able to do it. Sometimes try to to take a break for a day or two.

What do you average?

lol it's in his signature
Sub 12.8 CFOP yay

Stop practicing as much. Lay off for a couple of days, if you can get your self to do it, don't cube for a couple of days, then come back and cube some more.
Tomorrow I won't cube, and then on Friday it will be harder because we have a day off school (I think it is mainly to compensate the teachers for the conferences this week) so I will just not cube as much and practice some weird things like skoob, fivifi, and mergerminx.

I try to do that; I'm just not very good at managing frustration. I have heard of other people getting stuck at around low 13/high 12, but I have no idea why.

I should be sub 12 by now, but oh well :P

12-13 seconds iss usually the time when you should start learning more advanced things. Try learning full COLL, a couple easy OLLCPs, x crosses, learning to use more inspection to track first F2L pair, partial edge control, etc. I personally havent learned anything new since I avergad about 13s (other than a few algs I swapped out for better ones)

That's dumb advice because it didn't come directly from faz

Okay, I probably should learn full COLL, but I usually can't recognize CxLL very fast (just look at my stupid low 4 2x2 average with full CLL). It would probably help in the long term, but I'm already so frustrated about being stuck that I just won't like it. I'll try though. Partial edge control is easy, I already pretty much use it when it is quick. The problem I have with OLLCP and ZBLL is that learning a few algs will barely do anything. Also, xcross and F2L tracking are things I do in some of my solves, but it's hard for me to plan out my cross and find the first pair fast enough. I think more improvement will come from improving F2L lookahead and LL recognition, not as much as from algs. The hard thing is that there aren't any direct ways to improve lookahead/recognition that I know of. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I wasnt able to get good averages with CLL on 2x2 either. I guess you can just learn algs whenever. Also, knowing a few cases does help. Learning 1 OLLCP for every OLL case will let you influence PLL and avoid diag swaps (that is, if you choose algs that do the opposite of your normal one)

UNLIMITED INSPECTION

After thinking about it, you don't even have to learn an opposite swap.
Check this out: https://alg.cubing.net/?setup=F_R_U..._U-_L-_U_R-_U-_L_//Niklas_creates_an_adj_swap

you mean an adjacent swap and a no swap?

huh? What I mean is that you could use anything that permutes corners differently than your normal alg and you won't get a diag swap; you have a choice.
With my alg.cubing.net example the case would be a diag swap if you did sune, so you can do niklas even though it won't solve the corners. It will just make them be something other than a diag swap. The main reason for doing it would be the choice between algs (5 instead of 1, except for a few OLLs)

At your speed it becomes harder and harder to improve and also personal limits start to kick in.
I am significantly older and I have been almost stuck at sub-20 mark for months, not weeks. Just relax, stop cubing for some days, change the way you train (maybe stop timing yourself and do some slow solves where you pay attention to what you do and how you do it and how you can do it more efficiently, faster, etc.). Think about if you need to learn new things, like finishing full OLL if not done already, change some algs you don't like for new ones... record a video and analyse it yourself or post in the forum asking for guidance... There are lots and lots of things you can try, but just stating here that you don't improve is not gonna fix anything ;-) The most you can get in general advice like this.

What I recommend doing is taking a 2-week long break. I found that taking a break really helped me, it might help you as well.

I tried taking a break. I think my times are just permanently 52 seconds due to permanent hand damage and my cube is too messed up from slamming it on the table.

what's the best solution for this case

case is the white orange and green pair on the right side with the oriented edge and it goes into left slot

I currently do R U' R' L' U L U' L' U' L
