I use letters for edges and audio for corners using vowels to remember orientation and memorising corner cycles visually, the problem is that I have to review my corner memo atleast three times to be firm that I have memorized the corners correctly
if there are less corner targets(like 5 or 6 only),memoing them once is enough.
But if there are more corners and more cycles to break in between,i am forced to review atleast thrice to make sure the corners are memorized correctly which in turn creates a risk of me forgetting edge memo.
My question is - Should I experiment with assigning an image to each corner sticker and remembering them as a photo album?
Is there anyone who uses letters for edges and images for corners?is it efficient?

Don't put an image on each sticker. Use a letter instead. Take 2 stickers (hence 2 letters) and combine them and make a sound (preferably 1 syllable), and memorize the sounds. eg TR "tar" or VP "vip" or SI "sigh", etc.

So I just started really practicing blind, I'm still stuck at the level of writing down my targets first... I used this scramble: L2 U L2 U' L2 U' R2 D U L2 B2 L' B R' L2 B2 L2 D F U B U (scramble with white on U and green on F, solve with yellow on U and orange on F) And these were my targets for the edges: DF RD UL BD DL UF FR LF BL UB FU RB BR. At the end I got two flipped edges: the FU edge and the UR edge. Did I executed the wrong targets or should I have shot to FU and then to UF again?? And how do I know this in advance, because the yellow-orange edge was on a different position when I started writing down the targets. Before I started solving I used the T = U + C rule and it worked, because I had T = 13, U = 11 and C = 2

Does someone know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in forward, Celli

Your memo is wrong. Correct memo would be: DF RD UL BD DL UF FR LF BL UB UF RB BR
When you look at UB, this piece belong to UF not FU.

Are there any ways to do 5x5 BLD centers without using comms? I am looking for something similar to u2 centers on 4x4.

You can do U2 both for t- and x-centers. x-centers are the same as the 4x4x4 centers, t-centers are similar, you only have to turn different slices. I´m sure you can figure it out alone.

M2 and i have a letter for every sticker and memo in letter pairs.
if you have to shoot to a piece in the M-slice... lets say it is a T and if you do M2 and look at the same sticker it is E. do you remember T or E if you know that the M-slice is currently "flipped"?
both types are sort of confusing for me. what would you recommend to me?

T. That way it's easier to solve the ugly cases (FU and BD, DF buffer) with commutators.

Where do you buy a blindfold?

I don't know how good they would be, but a lot of discount stores stock them. Otherwise, they are available at CubeDepotUsa here, Speedcubingstore here, and Speedcubeshop here. They are all American stores so they should be convenient for you. Speedcubingstore has them the cheapest of those three stores.

Btw, I found them by searching for them at well know cube stores. You could try that next time you are looking for a specific product. :)

Duh. The pharmacy, forgot to check there. I was at walmart because if you want anything its probably at walmart but I couldn't really find any sleep masks. But I didn't check that area.

Also, I did check a few online stores but after the first two I figured it be way easier to find one at a local store or something.

Also, I was a bit lazy, so I just asked in here.

Thanks guys

Is this a correct M2 solution? It works, but is this how you would memorize it? I don't have algs to shoot directly to places to FU, BD, and BU, so I use the 2 edge flipper algorithm. DF if my buffer.

U2 R B2 L2 F2 U2 R2 U2 R2 F2 R' U' B F' L' B F Scramble with yellow on top, orange in front.

UB -> DB -> RU -> UB (right here, you would memorize that UB is flipped and you'll have to flip it with BD at the end, correct, because BD was already flipped since the beginning?) -> FL -> UL -> RB -> LF -> FR - > DL -> LB -> RF -> x' edge flipper algorithm, x

Thanks.

Yes you memo it that way. But text in red are too much of a hassle in my opinion. Just learn the M-slice algs. FU: F E R U R' E' R U' R' F' M2'. BD: M2' D R' U R' U' M' U R U' M R D'. BU: F' D R' F D' M2' D F' R D' F. They're really easy to learn. However if you insist on not learning them, then yes you can memorise it that way, like oh UB is flipped I have to flip it back later. Get a good way to memo, because I'm assuming you memo edges first and solve them last. Have it stick.

Hope I helped :)

Thanks for those algs. So does that mean it's still the same, for BD and FU; it's just like DB and UF? As in if the centers aren't rotated, you do the corresponding alg. And if the centers are rotated, then you do the opposite alg. (like the alg for FU for BD)? And BU, it wont matter if the centers are rotated? Thank you very much.

I'm not sure if I get what you mean. I mean, if you are an M2 off (what you mean by centers are rotated), it's FU for BD, and BD for FU. Yes just like UF and DB. However, if you want to shoot to UB, do M2. EVEN if you are an M2 off. It doesn't matter when you're shooting to UB. If you want to shoot to BU, do the F' D R' F D' M2' D F' R D' F alg. That's it. Being an M2 off only affects the UF piece and BD piece. (basically UF,FU,BD,DB stickers). :)

Hello,

I recently started learning BLD. The method I am using is Old Pochmann for corners and M2 for edges. Tutorial by EricLimeback (Youtube Username) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncpkVvIEcKc&list=LLsSgMOGr3aA4IpHpCa1VdYg&index=1&feature=plpp_video

I need a little help on how to put this piece on the right place.
P.S. color scheme: White on top, red on front (same as him)

So, in this case, the centers are switched (yellow on top and orange on front). My buffer piece is the red of red/yellow.
I dont know what I have to do in this case to keep the solve.

Do I have to shoot the piece to the BU with the alg. F' D R' F D' M2 D F' R D' F?
Or I have to forget that peace and change it, for example, with the FL and continue the solve.

I have just started M2 these days so I will probably be uploading more cases that I wasnt able to solve by myself.

Since it's your buffer piece you need to break in to a new cycle, switching it with another unsolved edge and continue solving. Eric talks about this in his video. So if you don't get what I mean just watch his video again.
