I roughly memorize centers in a clockwise/Z-shape kind of way. And I try to avoid U centers especially if almost all U centers are already solved.

I know who you are. :P Nothing to be amazed about though. That's just a side effect of me being lazy.

I do the same as Jakube + if two pieces are on U I always use d/u as the interchangeable layer.

Thanks for your feedback!
I never thought I'd see the day where a MBLD cuber calls himself lazy ;)

I want to solve my first 3x3 BLD using Old Ponchman.
I can do the 2x2 and have a sucess rate of about 1/2. Somewhere around there.
But I cant get around to the edges,
Can someone help me somehow lol

My preferered Old Pochmann tutotial: Joel van Noort's

T perm to shoot stuff. Read Joel van Noorts thingy.

As for memo, I recommend you use letters as there's lots more stuff to memo. For your sentences really involve all the senses when picturing your story.
For corners you can obviously simply visual.

Don't use the color memo method. ex Blue/yellow edge -> BY -> Boy. That's a terrible method, esspecially for Old Pochman corners. Just give each sticker location a letter.

BTW, you can speedbld a 4x4 but you can't solve a 3x3 BLD w/ op??

That's not how colour memo works. It goes like
Red/white edge -> Mostly red but some white -> Santa
White/red edge -> Mostly white but some red -> English flag

There's no reason why you can't do both. I would suggest it, rather than limiting your options.

I keep having the problem of two flipped pieces across from each other, Any ideas on what might be causing this? I checked my setup moves and I don't really see how they are being flipped.

Thanks

What is your corner method? The normal parity alg is U' F2 U M2 U' F2 U

It switches the M slice and switches the UB and UL edge. Then if OP corners all that's needed is a Yperm.

Sorry I solve corners first with OP and some BH, then m2 edges. Parity for me means my corners were solved in an odd number, so I have to leave the UBR and URF corners switched, then when I finish the edges, I'm left with the two corners switched on the UR vertex, and the m slice needed to be fixed.

You can do OP Corners, then the U' F2 U M2 U' F2 U Parity, then M2 edges, without using R perm at all. The only difference is the when you start edges the M slice will already be off by an M2.

Edit: wait, wait, are you using T perm for corners? You said when you have an odd number of corner shots you'd end up with URF and URB swapped, which is a T perm, but OP usually uses Y perm for corners leaving UL and UB edges swapped after an odd number of shots.

Oh, I also would call myself lazy.
Sure, i´ve done some practice to get 15/15 in sub 1 hour (3 attempt a week!!!) but now I´m very lazy. I forgot a lot of my LetterPairList and I only do a maximum of one attempt each week.
There would be time for 3 multis a week and 50 3BLDs each day and there would be also some time for Big BLD also, but I´m too lazy. In the last two weeks I only did 1 3BLD, no Big BLD and no Multi.

For edge memo, on the first piece, he says to trace it to see its correct placement. I can do that, but when I get to the next piece, I get trouble. When you're memorizing, would you just have to imagine the next piece and trace that too? Or do you eventually "know" where the piece goes without having to trace, based on the colors? (I hope you understand, a detailed answer would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry for the lack of detail but could it be that it is just the use of the term “trace” that is confusing you?
Just as in regular 3BLD you look where it needs to go and then continue with the edge in that location.

Using this scramble for edges only Bld (Old Pochman): U' R L' F' D R2 L2 D' F2 L2 B U2 D2 R2 L2 F' D2 B2 U2

Here is my edge memo in the beginning: BR LU BD RF FU. Then I get stuck with the buffer piece back in its position (flipped) and the only way can see where I can break into a new cycle is when I actually perform the memo and see where I can break into a new cycle.

My question is how can I see where I need to break without doing any moves
so my full edge memo can be, BR LU BD RF FU (Break in) ->!UL BU LF DF RD DL BL BR LU ?
Thanks in advance.

You should break into a new cycle with an unsolved piece (not with UL, because you solved UL before). You don´t have matter about the flipped Buffer. Just shot to an unsolved piece like UB, then FL FD DR LD LB BU cycle closed and the flipped Buffer is also solved (a flipped Buffer will always solve itself, you don´t have to worry about it)
