I solve edges first, so when I get down to the last parity edge piece I remember (visually) where it is. Then when going through the corner solve after that, and I get down to the last parity piece, I recall the visual location of the parity edge and I do setup moves to setup both the corner and edge into a PLL. I usually setup the edge first (slice moves don't disturb corners) and then the corner. I don't know if this is necessarily the best way to handle this, but it works for me.
That requires quite a bit of thinking, doesn't it.
Any tips for my big cube BLD execution(check out my 8:20.66 5BLD with a big delay)?

Hi, I'm a noob at BLD, I just started today. I'm using the Pochmann method. What do you do it the buffer piece for edges is already solved? I feel the answer is really simple, but I'm stupid and just want to know. Please don't flame. thanks.

Fine an unsolved piece, and shoot that into the buffer :). We all started new.

So use an algorithm, to keep the two corners the same? (but switched) Thanks.

EDIT: One more question. My first buffer piece for edges was orange-yellow. I'm solving with yellow on top. orange is on the top for the edge, and yellow is one the side. How do I put this piece in correctly? Thanks.

What is your solving orientation other than yellow on top? That way we can provide a direct example for the orange/yellow edge rather than staying ambiguous with the response.

Question:

A siginficant propotion of my recent failures are due to me "forgetting" to flip edges, twist corners, and perform parity. I'll realise that I need to do it half way through solving edges, and either have to undo a bunch of work, or DNF.

What I'm trying out is performing my edge flips and corner rotations at the start of the solve, (then corners, then edges). My question is, (especially for old-pochmann), is it possible to fix parity at the start of the solve?

My thinking is, use setup moves to move the URB and URF cubies into the correct place, perform an R-Perm, then undo the setup moves. (there are probably other variants using Rb, Ja, Jb). Would this work, or am I going a bit mad?

Yellow on top, orange in front.

Alright, so do the setup move of l' y' then perform a J(a) perm (R' U L' U2 R U' R' U2 L R U') then undo the setup move by doing y l. That is of course if you use that J(a) perm, there would be other setup moves for varying algs.

If you only want to use T perms, you can do a setup move of l D' L2 , t perm, then undo the setup move with L2 D l. So you see with both examples that what you're wanting to do is get it so that the orange side of where the piece is supposed to be is facing up on the top layer so that you can switch it with the top color (orange) of the piece in the buffer (all while not disturbing your buffer piece or the corners you are switching). Not sure if that is clear, but hopefully you can see what I mean. When it finally clicks, you'll have no trouble making up setup moves like that on the fly, so don't try and memorize them for certain positions.

Is it possible to reach sub20-25 memo only with your visual memory? Because letter pairs and images not work very well for me...

I use M2 for edges, but I do of average 20-25 in edges only. And I want to improve.
What method is better for edges, Turbo or M2?
I Know that both methods need the same movements, but In turbo you don't need to do M2, and too in Turbo you need to think sometimes.
Someone could put How much took in Turbo or M2.

For old Pochmann I highly reccomend Joel van Noort's tutorial (Google it).
It clearly explains breaking in to new cycles and has some nice additional algs/

Obviously it has Y perm for corners and T for edges.
The nice extra ones are for shooting to:
- UF (J-perm)
- UB (sexy J-perm)
and the best of all: LU Yes, the target sticker is on the left face ("upside down" T-perm)

Using these three extra alg reduces the number of set up moves.
Especially the upside down T is great as it is very easy to make set up mistakes when using the normal T for solving stickers on the L face.

What are some ways to solve the midges for 5BLD? Comms of course. M2 variation?

Do the x-centers, wings, and corners for 5BLD correspond exactly with the centers, wings, and corners for 4BLD?

Is there anything else I would need to know to do 5BLD? Parities, algorithm changes, or anything else?

I use UBL buffer so the one I gave yo uabove was good since I just changed y rotation to y' and gave you that

My comm for that first case is just x' rotation and then RUL. Can't adopt it for you.

The 2nd is just a cyclic shift (or per special, w/e), again, not adoptable.
