How is image memorization for M2 done? Eric Limeback said in his tutorial it is good to memorise in groups of 2 or 4. I prefer images (journey, roman rooms etc) to just letters (auditory) which is what he explains in his tutorial.
I know how image memorization works, but was wondering how it is done in even numbered groups.
Or do you just forget about the even numbered groups and do it any way?

Thankyou.

P.S. I'm not sure how to explain my question well... I hope you understand

R2 is hard, unless you are great at undoing 5+ move 3-gen setups and learning a specific alg for several R slice targets. M2/Poch can be sub-1, Cornelius can do ~45 (with crazy tps ofc) so unless you are desperate to get even faster and want to learn a method with little information out there (is there anything other than pochmann's site?) I would stick to M2/Poch.

Have you even tried R2? Most setups are 3-4 moves.
When I was learning it, I learnt D2 rather than R2, for nicer setups. I got comms for the bottom, all which can be sub 1'd. It has 2 Aperms, 4 8 move comms, plus sexy move twists for FRD RDF. It's as fast for each piece as M2, and with less pieces (4 on average) it's extremely fast.
It's also fun.
Shooting to U stickers, requires a lot of moves, but sexy x3, D2, sexy x3 isn't exactly slow. And you could learn the 4 comms for those cases if you want. And parity is so sexy, and only required once in the solve.

yea I've tried R2, and I can see why making it D2 would be advantageous (I do all coms RU, D anyway lol)
The setup moves (according to pochmann's site) range from 3 to 6 moves and there 8 specific algs of about 12 moves average to learn for the L slice and R face orbits. Since he only shoots to UBR you'll almost always end up with corner twists, unlike OP which you'll usually only have with twisted corners in the scramble.
Concerning parity, the alg I use for M2/Poch is 7 moves and only needs to be executed once if necessary. The M2/R2 parity is 16 moves, though it is fun to execute. It's definitely not a bad method, but I think getting really fast at the y perm and 1-2 move setups would be easier than getting very good at 8 new algs and longer setups with more generators.

When you say R2 algs have 3-6 move long setups, you forget to mention that the alg that is conjugated with those setups is one single move: R2. That's pretty neat compared to a T-perm or a Y-perm. But generally you just don't think of R2 algs as setup - R2 - undo setup. You most definitely do not have to undo 5+ long setups. You don't make up those on the fly, you know them already. It's one alg, one movement. It has a whole different feel to it.
Anyway, all I'm saying is that that's not how you compare R2 with classic pochmann corners.

I think I compared them well, shorter setup moves in exchange for longer algorithm, easier setup moves (always 2 gen), never having to switch between conjugated R2s and R slice algs. Easier and shorter parity algorithm, less chance of having twisted corners.

The obvious advantage to R2 is move count, though in a scramble with twisted corners, parity and more long R face algs, L orbit setups the move counts may converge.

I'm not amazing at blind and I definitely have to think about setup moves sometimes, with the exception of memo fails the most likely cause of a DNF is going to be setup fails, imo.

With the nice cases, R2 is insanely fast. With the not-so-nice ones, it's bearable. I don't think parity is very nice, though.

the overall movecount doesn't deter me. The length of setups and percentage of cases that need special algs deters me. jejejejejejejejejjejeejejejjjlolz

I don't understand, are you are trying to make a point or just reiterating?

I'm sure people can be good with R2, I was simply replying to EricReese's post with my opinion.

oh ya btw, you're fast.

Hahah yah, I have been wanting to say this for a while, but I figured that people would be like "Why are you suggesting that someone learn bh so early?"

Just to let you know guys, I learned it after 4 solves of old pochman, skipped M2. Its really not that hard. I haven't done a solve yet, as I am waiting till I have my LPL down before doing any blind solves (ok maybe a square 1 once I get it down)
