BTW, I use OP corners, M2 edges.

If you solve the corners first, you can just do U' F2 U M2 U' F2 U after the corners and your parity is fixed. That's what I do, anyway.

Yes you can but I just do R perm (my R perm needs no rotation, and for 2x of them I can have both performed sub3 total) and then the parity alg, because I find it easier to know during each beginning letter of each object in my sentence has the M slice not off. I'm willing to sacrifice 3 seconds for a safer solve.
 
wait, what exactly is the advantage of using R perm?? I use the U' F2 U M2 U' F2 U alg. I still know whether the M slice is off or not. Why would you do ~30 unnecessary turns?

No advantage, just did it to begin with and now I just do it. If I ever get sub1 I might just switch due to me being able to save 3 seconds, but it's just easier for my brain to know at this point during execution that the first letter per object/location is M slice not being off.
 
Hey, I was wondering if anyone had a commutator for 4x4: UbR to UbL to UfR

I have been unable to find one that isnt incredibly long. For instance, I could set it up like
x' d y R U2
and then do a regular commutator
y' u L' U L u' L' U' L y
And then undo to get
x' y d R U2 y' u L' U L u' L' U' L y U2 R' y' d' x
But... thats a long alg :P any ideas for a shorter one? Or is this simply a bad case.

and also, now looking, something is wrong with that.

If you're going BH move optimal, that case is 9 turns to solve. Look at how you would solve the corner cycle:
ULB -> BLD -> BRU

Same idea for your wing cycle
 
A B9 is an 8 mover with a setup where the setup cancels with the interchange. An A9 is where it cancels with the insertion. I'm pretty sure, for corners, that they're never optimal.

two clarifications:
on 4x4x4 the cycle: UbR to UbL to UfR
is an A9 cycle.

And yes, on corners all B9 cases are actually optimal at 8 moves with a pure commutator. On other piece types there are cases that are optimal with a B9 alg.

Woops! I think I might have wrote it wrong :fp ( I Scribbled it on a piece of paper so that I could look at it after a test)
I believe the reverse though would be B9? (By that I mean Ufr to UbL to UbR)?
I definitely see the A9 in the one I originally wrote though
(y' r2) (r' B2 r) (F2) (r' B2 r) (F2) (r2 y)

And the reverse of the cycle would be:

(y' r2)(F2)(r' B2 r)(F2)(r' B2 r)(r2 y)

Is that correct?

Edit: Oh wait fail xD thats an A9 too, just in the form BAB'A'

These are swapped. It should be that:

UbR to UbL to UfR:

It depends on whether you solve corners or edges first. If you solve edges first, U' F2 U M2 U' F2 U is all that's necessary. If you solve corners first, you need to do the short fix followed by an R perm.
