How should I improve,

I average almost sub 30.

My Cross Sucks, Any tips on how to improve or techniques?
My f2l is alright, usually my cross+f2l = (20secs)
I do not know look ahead.
I use 2 look oll and it's about 6 seconds, unless I get an easy case (2-3 secs)
I know about half of my PLL's and I'm learning the rest (5-6 secs) usually (3-4 secs with an easy case)

Any tips for improvement?

I think the best way to improve your cross simply comes with practice. If you still use the basic beginner's method to solve it, I would stop doing that now. Try and solve your cross in eight moves or less, without timing yourself. It'll be really hard at first, but slowly but surely you'll get used to unorthodox crosses.

How comfortable are you with your F2L? If you're struggling with pieces and sometimes have to think about cases, I would work on that.

If you're very comfortable with your "algs" for F2L cases, I would suggest trying to pay less attention to the case that you're doing and more to what you have to do next.

For PLL, keep drilling the algorithms. Because it's the last step, try and turn as fast as possible(while still controlling the cube), as you don't need to look for any next step.

This is very helpful. My PB right now is 40.10.

For the cross make sure you are solving it on the D face if you are not already. I just realized I was doing this wrong recently, and it helps a lot with tracking your first F2L pair. Then like Ninja Storm said, the rest is just practice.

I've followed almost all the advises from those who subs-20. I use CFOP and right now I avg around 25. I'm having problems with look ahead and slowing down during crosses. I finish the cross sub-3 and the F2L holds me back the most. It takes me ~15 to complete cross + F2L. Any tips about looking ahead and slowing down during crosses? Would appreciate it. :)

I do the cross usually on the F face. It makes me easy to detect the edge pieces. I'm not color neutral. I do white crosses only. Sometimes yellow. About the F2L, I do zero look ahead. For the OLL, I use 1-Look OLL and I memorized around 30+ cases. It takes me ~3 secs to execute the case. I memorized almost all the 1-Look PLLs. There are only 4 cases that I didn't memorize yet. :D

How is your PB (in sig) 13.52 and you average 25?! That must have been REALLY lucky scramble. I am also stuck.

I used no such guide to progress in my CFOP journey, but I like this guide. I'm impressed in your plight with the OLLs and I still have only the G and N perms to learn for PLL. I know 2 look OLL.
My PB is 9.59 (set it today) and when I'm warmed up, I normally get anywhere from 13-17. I use many advanced techniques because I learned a lot when I started. So, my advice is to first learn to solve the cross on D and still be able to track pieces. This may mean for a very chaotic beginning of the solve. It's kinda confusing at first. I had to start solving on the left and the on bottom when I first switch and I'm still not perfectly CN.

Speedsolver, I've gotten an entire LL skip more than once :)
Learn to slowsolve. Watch a LOT of videos of example solves by the fastest, and especially pay attention to just how early they track pieces. It may end up so that you can even track enough pieces of an X-cross with only 10 seconds of inspection.
SLOWSOLVEEEE

There's your problem.

I'm back to CFOP and encountered the same problem again that I had before:
I spent a little while doing slow solves and practising look ahead. For fun I decided to time myself and the first solve I got a 15.xx full step, which is a pb for me, even though my LL kinda sucked. Could have been sub 15! I usually avg 22-26s. All that because I used moderate turning and look ahead. However the next solves were worse again, because I started turning too fast again and had pauses.
My question now would be: should I just not time myself at all until lookahead becomes the norm? It always seems to work on the very first solve and then I go back to the bad habbits.

Metronome training and untimed solves will push your times down. Start the metronome at 60BPM and work up that maximum by about 10BPM per time you train. This will make changes.

Yeah, it REALLY was a LUCKY scramble. :D The cross was solved, the F2Ls were very easy, OLL skip and an easy PLL. I couldn't remember were I got that scramble though. I was too excited that my brain deleted any unnecessary information. Lol.

When I'm warmed up, I usually get from 19-24 Lol. The problem is that my hands eventually gets hurt. It's because of my physical injuries a long time ago. Even right now, my right index finger hurts and I can't do any fingertricks properly. I might start to try do the cross on D and I'm currently practicing lookahead. :D So far, I'm able to track 1 pair after the cross. I'm also practicing X-Cross too. I often get double X-Crosses instead of one. Sometimes triple :D

There's your problem.

Well, thanks for noticing. But right now, as mentioned, I'm currently practicing both X-Cross and lookahead. I'm hoping for better PBs in the future that aren't an awesomely LUCKY scramble like before. Lol

Help getting faster

guys i use cfop i know 12 pll f2l in about 25 sec and 2look oll and avg about 30 seconds:fp i need to make it sub 20 what should i start with and what should i do ?????????? my best time 16 seconds.thanks:confused:

First of all, this probably belongs into the "How to get faster Thread" or the "One Answer Question Thread". Second, would make it much easier to read if your presentation was better. Also the title "helppppp" is kinda annoying.

Now to answering your question. Your F2L is very slow for your speed. That is definitely your biggest point of improvement. Look for better ways to solve cases and watch some walkthrough solves. Also try to minimize pauses. To get sub 20, full PLL is very helpful, but full OLL is not important.

EDIT: Ninja'd

I start to realize why xxoxia calls it the suicide stage when you are just above 20 seconds. I'm aways doing slow solves and look ahead, which starts to get more and more comfortable.
But still, I just can't get any faster. If anything, when I time myself, I am usually worse than before because I turn slow and can't really look ahead too well. I guess that's because I put pressure on myself when I do timed solves?

Would it be better to just not time myself anymore at all until I learned to look ahead pretty well(not fast necessarily, but continuously)?

What's also weird is that when I do really slow solves, my look ahead usually is worse than when I speed up a little. I won't have a completely pause-free F2L, but I seems I have a better overview of the cube and my pairs if I don't turn very slow. Does anybody have the same experience?
In the same context, I tried the metronome thing, and I hate it. How many people actually learned proper look ahead with this method?
