Jakube, thank you for your reply! And i have another portion of questions. Can i replace my M2 method with another one?I find it difficult to understand & memorize (when centers are swapped, another alg for m-slice edges, etc.). I have competitions in next saturday, and want to learn how to solve edges BLD.

Or, can you just help me with some scrambles using M2 / old pochman?:)

Sure you can solve the edges with another method like Old Pochmann, or 3OP.
But of course I can help you with some scrambles. Just post some scrambles.

Hi guys. I need help with M2 method
1. Can i solve edges first?
2. For now i have a case, when DF piece should go to UB (centers aren't swapped). I just do an M2. But then DF edge should also go to UB. (All edges except those two are in place and correctly oriented). What am i doing wrong?((

1.you can solve edges first, i will do an edges first solution then end with corners, using M2 edges and old pochmann corners.

2. That's parity and you solve it by U' F2 U M2 U' F2 U (If you use old pochmann corners)

Just post some scrambles.

1. ok the first edge to solve is Red/Yellow which goes to RD

x' U' R' U M2 U' R U x

2. next is Orange/Green which goes to LF

x' U L2 U' M2 U L2 U' x (notice that when the R/L turn is a half turn that the setup/setdown are idendtical)

3. next is White/Red which goes to UR

R U R' U' M2 U R U' R' (sexy move setup, inverse sexy setdown)

4. next is White/Green which goes to UF, but since the M2 is off from 3 previous shots, an odd number, we shoot to DB

M U2 M U2

5. next is White/Orange which goes to UL

L' U' L U M2 U' L' U L (lexy setup, inverse lexy setdown)

6. next is Yellow/Orange which goes to DL

U' L2 U M2 U' L2 U (again half turn setup, identical setdown)

7. next is Red/Blue which goes to RB

x' R' U' R U M2 U' R' U R x (x' back right sexy, inverse back right sexy)

8. next is Orange/Blue which goes to LB

x' L U L' U' M2 U L U' L' x (mirror of previous shot)

damn i was using jflysim to do this and made a mistake and lost my place, I believe the solution is correct so far but it's simply too tedious to try and start over. Someone can finish if they want or I'll do it later.

First, thank you all to help me. It's nice speedcubers have community where people help each other, and help n00bs like me:)

At all, i understand M2 method nice, all except M slice edges. Memo, which piece comes next, parity. I'll find out scramble Rpotts posted at evening, and try to figure out my questions about M2.

M2

Now, your buffer piece is solved, so it's time to break into a new cycle.

11. New cycle: we'll shoot to FR

U R U' M2 U R' U'

12. and now we shoot back to that same piece, but to the other sticker.

x' U' R2 U M2 U' R2 U x

And edges are solved. Note that steps 11 and 12 together simply flipped the buffer piece and the piece at FR.

And since there were an even number of targets, there is no parity. I don't think that you needed a corners example, so I won't do that. Just let us know if you do, though.

I got into M2 recently and I'm having issues keeping track of the centers. How do I keep track of whether a UF/FU piece needs to be put at UF/FU itself or at DB/BD (when the centers are flipped)? I've tried counting, but it doesn't help as I end up messing up my memo. Any other technique?

If you're using letter pairs for memo, if it's the first letter of the pair, it's correct, if it's the second, it's off. If you aren't using letter pairs, you might try marking m-slice position with your feet in some way.

Try to do:
M2 then Rw2 R2 then M2 and so on.
M2 represent that the centers will be "wrong" after you do the M2
and Rw2 R2 the opposit

Plenty good enough. Wow. I can't believe I didn't see that before. How do you see setup moves so easily? Do you just know what an 8-move looks like, and you can easily see where the stickers need to be?

It wasn't easy for me at first. Now I just have them all memorized, but at first it was quite a struggle. You'll get used to them eventually, but in the meantime, it's fun to search for them. That's what I loved about learning BH - it was fun trying to solve each case to find an optimal solution.

Memo question: Right now I'm using Roman Rooms for multiBLD and placing 3 images in each location. I sort of combine the 3 images into one scene, which allows me to memorize a lot more letters, but occasionally I get confused about the order of the individual images. Any suggestions on how to keep the sequence straight when grouping like this? I can give an example if my explanation isn't clear =)

I do the same thing with you but just 2 images.

This is for 2 images but I imagine you could adapt it for 3.

I have the dominant character in the location come first in the execution. Aka say my memo was HICH

I'd memorize Hitler buttf****** Chris Hardwick. I'd go through that location knowing Hitler is doing the raping (hopefully it's not consentual). I'd then know that HI comes first in execution.

Make sense?

I use something similar to Ryan's. If I have people, I'll have the ones that come first be dominant, like he described. However, if I have only objects, I'll usually make the ones that come first be large, dominant, and only have one of them, while the 2nd and 3rd may be smaller and come in larger quantities.

For instance: OB AK WX

I would probably imagine an obelisk which has come to life, and is swiping itself towards an army of AK-47s. The AK-47s would be falling back and dying into hot wax. This would also be happening left-to-right in my head, just to reinforce the order of the images.
