Hi,
I'm a speedcuber from Poland. In my area it's hard to get any brands that are usually mentioned (it's possible but the shipping would usually cost more than the lube and it would take ages). Local forums always mention some lubes that aren't made with cubes in mind, but are supposed to be good. However I found a speedcubing focused shop that sells it's own stuff made by a trusted chemical company.

They have 4 different lubes to choose from, one is supposed to be a hair product (not kidding). It's some oil that looks watery (but I might be wrong), I think I would avoid it even if it's actually good just because lube spilling out of the cube would annoy the hell out of me.

Another 2 are bottles that look almost exactly like Maru, except they are supposed to be much less watery. It says "silicone oil with organic solvents". I did research on that, silicone is what you want on the cubes instead of petroleum. So that should be something good? I'm worried about the "organic solvents" though, is it something that can damage the cube? The only difference between the oils should be the thickness.

And the last one is a silicone spray (looks pretty much like hairspray).

I have too many questions to ask actually...
Could any of those damage the cube?
Which one should I get? (I know, too vague). I am thinking about the spray one because it seems the most convenient, I would just spray once or twice inside and be done.
But in case I don't like the lube, how would I remove silicone? It's supposed to be waterproof.
Can / should I mix any of them? Like spray inside, the Maru like ones on the pieces?
Or the thicker oil on the core and lighter on the parts?

I will be grateful for all the advice.
If anyone wants to see the lubes, I can add links.

Everything got so confusing when my posts were moved - now it looks like I'm introducing myself twice. Sorry for that and thanks for all the answers!

I need help with my (black) Valk. (There is a difference with stickerless and black valks. Stickerless is much softer and smoother imo)
I can never get it to my liking, and it’s always bumpy and spring noise is frequent.
Before you say “get good lube”, I have prior experience in lubing cubes. I have traxxis 30k (core and pieces), dnm, Cubicle weight 2, and weight 4. So please refrain from beginner tips and maybe suggest certain lubes that go well with it.
I usually set it up with traxxis on screws and some on pieces, then maybe add some weight 2 or dnm.
Or it’s entirely possible that my valk is just a bad batch and/or I broke it in wrong (is this even possible?).

Nice try FBI
I have noticed a few different ways of telling the density of a lube. For example, I'm familiar with weight 1-5. But I'm still not sure how cst densities work. Ex.5000cst.

So what is, for example 5000cst to weight lubes?

Hello, my lubes should arrive today. I ordered the silicone spray and two different silicone "liquids" which are supposed to be medium and high density (with no water). Can anyone give me an opinion on how to actually use them? Should I combine them? One on the core, one on the pieces, or just use one type...

Is it possible to damage the cubes with bad lubing technique? If I don't like the lube how can I fix it?

First id recommend not using silicone spray if possible so use that as a last resort when the other lubes are gone. It’s kinda toxic and can damage the cube after long use.
For now, you dont need to combine them. Just disassemble the cube, unscrew the screws and take out the springs, and lightly lube each of them with the heavier lube. Then, reassemble the core, and put some of the medium lube on some of the pieces (not too much) while assembling the cube.
After this, it may feel slow, which is fine. You need the lube to “break in” throughout the cube.

Hey, this is kinda what I thought...

I would try to use one drop on each screw and then a small drop on opposing corners of the cube. Would that work?
The spray is supposed to be safe so I don't know...
How long do you think the lubes would last?

Oh and by combining them, that's what I meant - using one on core and one on the pieces.

Maybe two or 3 “drops”
Should last around a month or two (depends with the cube)

Yes. Use a heavier lube on the core, and if it is fast, put heavy on the pieces. If it needs sped up, put lighter on pieces. Would recommend heavy on core for sure. Remember its easier to add more than take some away.

Hey! So I'm buying a huge set of puzzles, and I got some lube as well. I'm getting lubicle black, silk, dnm37, lubicle 1, lubicle weight 5 and lubicle speedy. Which combination to use on a dry cube?

Do you know what feel and speed you want?

I haven't really experienced with lubes before, but my best I around 29 seconds, and I have a slow Tps. I'm looking for something smooth and fast, that won't overshoot and that it won't be super noticeable (like, not that I would feel like there is a lot of oil in my cube)

There are so many feels you could get. I would probably try lubicle black on the core (do be careful, it stains and is hard to get out, eve from the core). Then weight 5 on the pieces. Put some on the tracks and a small amount on the side of the pieces. From their depending on how it feels.

Add DNM to keep feel and make quicker. Id start with 1 drop.

Add Silk to add some speed and some softness. Again, start with 1 drop.

Add More weight 5 to get a smoother and slower feel.

Add Speedy to get a faster silicon feel (like DNM, only its silicon.)

Add Lubicle 1 to add speed and thats kinda it.

If anyone else has any thoughts. Please leave them down below, Im curios how others would do it.

so you're basically telling me I should put all of them in?
