What would the Dayan Taiyan be considered as in the old cube classification system? I have a gray one, and I just want to know a little more about it.

Yoooo, are there any people on here that can tell me the name of a puzzle that looks likes this? https://b.thumbs.redditmedia.com/s3Pe25Y6fi2AinI92ripLUcUhynK7ACpIZ1r7it8rvQ.jpg
I saw it online today and I suddenly remembered that I used to solve this thing online years and years ago, but I can't remember what it was called. I just know I found it here!

Hi

Is there anywhere a list with just a algorithm for each zbll case? No images. I just need one alg for each case. Of course i could copy all from a normal zbll sheet but thats quite some tedious work.

Where is an appropriate thread to post a video of solves to receive constructive criticism and advice to get better?

I'm thinking of switching my main over to my gans. However. it's the transparent purple edition. It has solid non-transarentfull brights on it, but i'm worried if it is competition legal anyhows.

I was referring to the following guidelines:

Puzzles whose coloured plastic is visible inside the puzzle (e.g. "stickerless" puzzles) are permitted. This does not include the following puzzles:
3h2a) Puzzles with transparent parts. Exception: An overlay sticker (see Regulation 3l)

3l) A puzzle may have a logo on a coloured part. If it does, it must have at most one coloured part with a logo.
  • 3l1) The logo must be placed on a center piece. Exceptions for puzzles that do not have center pieces:
    • 3l1a) For Pyraminx and 2x2x2, the logo may be on any piece.
    • 3l1b) For Square-1, the logo must be on a piece in the equatorial slice.
  • 3l2) The logo may be embossed, engraved, or consist of an overlay sticker. Exception: The logo must not be distinguishable by feel for blindfolded events (i.e. no embossings, engravings, or overlay stickers).

I have been looking for a place with BLE (Brooks Last Edge) algs, but I have been unable to find any working links. Does anyone happen to know any site or image with at least some BLE cases?

Regulation 3h2a is saying that the only transparent part allowed is one transparent overlay sticker, which is specifically there to allow the logo sticker most manufacturers put on their cubes. The actual plastic of the cube must not be transparent.

On my X-man tornado, dried out lube makes streak mrks, which I believe to be the culprit of it being rather sluggy. is there any way of getting rid of them?

Dealing with bad nerves during competitions.

Somehow I always get super nervous during competitions and always screw up. The smaller the puzzle, the more I screw up and the more I practice, the more I screw up.

The worst example is 2x2. At home, I usually have averages between 4.5 and 5.5. If things go really badly, a 6.x average can also happen. But on competitions, my PB Single is 5.3 and my PB Average is 7.5. It is really frustrating because I do practice 2x2 a lot, but it doesn't really seem to help and each time it is a very frustrating experience to always fail so badly. I choose the wrong CLL, I suddenly forget my CLLs, I screw up my layer, I build very stupid layers, I don't find my layer in inspection at all, I lock up all the time, I use 2 seconds for AUF etc. At home, those things almost never happen to me and never as badly.

For 3x3, I sometimes have the same, but far less extreme. For Skewb, my fingers are shaking so much that I can't properly execute a sledgehammer, but somehow my recognition gets faster so it doesn't influence my time so much and I am at ~11 both at home and at comps.

Did anyone have similar experiences and managed to get over it? Is it normal to be nervous on comps? Did it go away after a while for most people? I can't think of a good way to practice it. Maybe I should set up interviews with random companies and cube during the interview. It would screw up the interview, but I could at least practice solving 2x2 while being nervous. Practicing at home without pressure doesn't really seem to help. I practice 2x2 a LOT and it feels like the more I practice, the more I feel the pressure on comps and screw up.

For big cubes on the other hand, it luckily seems to be the other way round. For 5x5, my PB was 4:30 and I usually didn't manage to be sub-5, but on a recent comp I suddenly had a 3:23 time. I couldn't believe my eyes. Also for 4x4 and megaminx I had several overall PBs on comps. It feels like my hands are shaking and get worse, but my recognition and lookahead gets better during comps. So it screws me on the small events, but on big events, it helps me.

This is so true, I found that the less you care about an event, the better you do compared to your standards, for example, I have beaten my PB singles and averages in 4x4-7x7 and megaminx. This is partially to do with not practicing, so being surprised with good times.
I'm not practicing some of my favourite events for my next competition, hopefully it goes well if this is correct.
