Oh my! Would your really do that during a speedsolve or did you find it somewhere?
Because there must be like hundreds of cases like that and if I had to know the most efficient way to do every one of them I think I'd go crazy.

I found this when looking for a case for ZZ F2L (the other pair that that alg solves). I never remember to use it in solves though. There almost certainly are many more good algs that aren't obvious at all that not many people know about - we need to keep looking!

I think R U2 R2 u' R' u R has to be my favorite weird one that I actually use

And what case does that weird thing solve? I barely can say it watching the execution

It's for solving the front right slot F2L case, where the corner and edge are in the top of the left slot, and the edge is misoriented. You might normally solve it something like (U' L' U L)2 U2 y' R' U R. 12 moves and a rotation, not very good.

I use U' r U' r' F U2 R U R', which is just a lefty sledgehammer and insert

How to get sub 40? Can't break it :(

I've been cubing for a little over 1 year, but I can NEVER break the 40 second barrier on average.

I rarely get under 40-41 seconds, but I'm really consistent as a 42- 46 second solver. I've been working for months upon months now trying to improve, but nothing is working...

Just for kicks, heres my split estimates:

Cross: 4-10 seconds depending on difficulty
F2L: 15- 20 secs
OLL and PLL: 15 secs

Can someone give me a practice schedule or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

can you post example solves?

If you have learn f2l just practice and get all 42 algs of f2l but, according to praetoian, put example solves here :)

[Help thread] How to Get Faster using the Fridrich / CFOP Method

I get like 2 sub 30 solves in every 5 solves
I know advanced cross (solving cross on bottom and not doing one piece at a time)
I can do F2L in like 13 seconds
And I know 4LLL( can do in like 11 seconds)
Plus I have pretty good look ahead and only an approx total of 3-5 seconds pause in F2L

I use a QI YI thunderclap

I've been cubing for around 4 months now. My average is usually below 30 seconds. Sometime though it's 30.xx. I know 2-Look OLL and Full PLL. My best time is 17.11. I'm trying to look ahead and it's working. I get 5-6 sub 30s in an average of 12. Am I doing good? And can you guys give me some tips on how to get better? Thanks :)

Hmm... I recommend practice :D You just need to work on making everything faster and reducing your gaps. Try and make sure that you can do all your F2L pairs with your eyes closed. (Take a look for some time, close your eyes, do it,) Once you know all your pairs well, work on looking for another pair and making your pairs faster and more efficient. Practice a higher TPS

You really need to work on your cross. It is probably the worst part of your solve. You are very inefficient and you don't use your inspection time wisely. You should be able to plan your whole cross during inspection. Give yourself unlimited inspection time when you practice. Your F2L isn't so good either. It's not efficient and you have too many pauses in your solves. Try turning slower and looking ahead. You only need like 2 TPS in your cross and F2L to get sub 30. Try learning full pll. Try learning 1 PLL every 2 days. You only have 14 plls left to learn so you can finish all your PLLs within a month. Learn your OLLs when your about sub20. It will help but not by that much. Last thing to do is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE

I can do ALL my pairs with eyes closed. My problem is that I find it difficult to look at another pair while solving one. And I can't seem so grasp the concept of look-ahead. Do I find the pair while inserting one? When I try to do this I mostly can't seem to find the edge. Any tips for me to change this habit? And there is a pretty bad habit of mine which I want to just get rid of. Whenever I see a corner in the top layer I do perform (RUR'U') till it comes to a suitable position for me to pair up the corner with the edge. Is this ok for me or should I try to change this habit? And I've seen many videos saying that I should solve with a pretty low TPS so that I can look-ahead. So what should I do?

It's good sometimes. You should change it though. There are better ways. Yes you find the pair while inserting one, or before. If you can do the pair with your eyes closed, then you don't need to look at the one you're doing now and look at other pairs. Ignore the one you're doing now and just do it from muscle memory and use your eyes to look for the next pair
