I modded my Shengshou 4x4 V5 a while back and have been trying to use it lately but I can't find a good lube for this cube. Every lube I have tried makes the cube have a really unusual bumpy feel. The closest thing I can compare this to is and over-lubed Huanying. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Which lube from TheCubicle.us is best for lubing big cubes like 4x4 and up? Weight 1-3, Regular Lubicle, or Lubicle Speedy?

I use shock oil (200wt) and approx 20-25k wt diff oil on the pieces of all my 4x4 or bigger puzzles. A few small beads of diff oil on the pieces and the a few drops of shock oil.

I did a search and couldn't find an answer, so I ask here:

How do you get Traxxas diff. lube (50k weight) into a Lubix syringe? I thought it would be the easiest thing in the world, but it is very difficult! I just stuck the green dispensing tip into the bottle of Traxxas and tried to suck it up but as I pulled harder air just started coming in from the back (i.e. where the rubber plunger is).

I found a method that worked but it was a little messy and could have been a lot messier if I messed up. Wondering if you guys have had a similar experience and found a good method? I had a little Lubix left in the syringe, figured they would mix to be like 45k weight or so.

Does anyone have any suggestion about lubing a fanshi? I am lubing the core as we speak, but the pieces I've read sometimes don't even need lube. OFten times, supposedly, it just slows it down. Is this true? Suggestions?

I lubed the pieces and it feels just fine :p

I personally find it's fine with lube. I prefer the lubey feel, where it's more subdued crunchy. Speedwise, at first after lubing it will be pretty nasty but after a few solves.

I threw in about half the lube I would had I been lubing a zhanchi/weilong and it seems perfect. I might try less lube in my other cubes from now on actually.

How do I lube a Moyu 4x4 like the Aosu/Weisu? The mechanism is different of that of the Shengshou as the springs in the core don't turn like normal cubes? Also, if I'm using weight 1 lube (which is quite runny), how do I ensure that the lube stays at the turning thing around the core? Or should I use thicker lube like weight 4?

Hi. I am looking to lubricate my Zhanshi for the 1st time and have seen Ansmann silicon shock oil and differential oil on sale locally but they vary from 100 cps to 7000 cps. Which should I be looking at for decent results?

If you've broken the cube in a little, you should be able to see where there is friction in the cube. Put some lube on those spots in 1/2 of the cube (just lubricate half of the cube when you have half the cube assembled) and break the lube in after assembling the entire cube. Weight 1 should be fine but you might end up relubing the cube a little more than if you used a thicker lube.

I guess this is the place to ask. Does anyone know of any places to buy syringes and dispensing tips for lube other than thecubicle.us? I want at least 3 of them, maybe 6 (for a friend), and they're kind of expensive. 3 dollars a piece for both the syringe and tip. That means 9 dollars for 3 syringes. I need them because I'm going to buy the Traxxas lube and have heard the dispensing tip for those bottles can be annoying.

This is copied and pasted from a post of mine in this thread from last week:

People like Lubix and TheCubicle use 'luer lock' syringes. These have caps which mean you can keep the lube in the syringe. The caps screw off, and you replace them with a dispensing tip.

There are loads of these on Amazon for a few dollars (/whatever your local currency is), just make sure you get a dispensing cap as well

Oh my god I remember this from somewhere! Sorry, a quick search in the forum search bar gave me nothing, so I asked. anyway, I checked on Amazon before asking my question and found syringes for decent prices, but I wasn't sure if the dispensing tips would fit. Are all luer lock syringes standard? Meaning a tip would fit any syringe as long as it's luer lock?

I believe so, but if you can find an Amazon/Ebay seller who does luer lock syringes they might also sell dispensing tips.

And don't worry about it - would have been almost impossible to find without searching for the words 'luer lock'!

So the tips sold by thecubicle.us you think would fit syringes such as these?

The idea of the Luer lock system is that it's a universal fitting, so that syringes can be fitted onto drips and other medical equipment.

So, in theory, any tips should fit...

I wouldn't like to say 100% though, there's always a chance it won't fit, so please don't blame me if that's the case!
