hi :) i want to lubricate my cube (55mm zhanchi i want to lube core and pieces) and i have 5k diff oil and 30k diff oil. i already lubed it multiple times but it seems like i just suck at it ( yes i have checked cbcs or lubix cubes video on it but i still suck), but now i heard that people are using different viscositys for core and pieces. so which one of my lubes should i use for the core and which one for the pieces???

Just use 30k for the core and you could use 30k for the pieces as well. 5k is best for bigger cubes like 4x4-7x7 etc. 5k diff oil is so runny that lubing the core is very hard if not impossible.

is my 5k the same as your 5k? it really isnt thaaaat runny lol. however thats all i wanted to know, so thank you :D

Are you sure its 5k and not 50k? 5k differential oil is pretty rare. And are you sure the scale is wt (weight) and not cst or cps (centistoke, centipoise). The scales are not equal.

yes im 100% sure its 5k, it says viscosity 5000 on the bottle. its also more liquid than the 30k. its from reely and i bought it from a store named conrad that sells alot of rc cars, they have alot of different viscosity diff oils and its 5 euros for 60cc lol.

Hello, what are good lubes for my Maru CX3 and what are the best shops in Europe to get them from? (shipping time & cost)

Thanks :)
You could look for some rc-car shops or big stores that sell rc-cars. 30k differential oil is a pretty good choice. 50k is best for lubing the core, 30k for pieces.

I'd buy from ebay or from thecubicle.us. Even though thecubicle is located in the US the shipping to Europe is very fast. I prefer buying from ebay as its the cheapest.

If buying from thecubicle, buy assorted silicone lube weight 3, 4 or 5. The lower the number the faster it makes your cube and the runnier it is. Remember to buy the dispensing tip as well, it's vital imo.

You could also just buy traxxas 30k or 50k differential oil from ebay. A set of 10k 30k and 50k diff oil would be ideal for all your lubing needs.

When you lube your cube for the second time, do you first need to clean your cube?

It is recommended. The cube gathers residual dust over time and the lube actually binds all the dirt inside the cube. When the lube wears out the dirt stays, so it's recommended to clean all the dirt before lubing it again as over time it might affect the performance.

What's the best lube?

By a quick finding, I didn't find a thread about this. But what's the best lube for speedcubes? I've used Maru lube sometimes and even a canola oil :D But yeah, so?

Pure silicone oil aka differential or shock oil. Different viscosities work best for different purposes, there is no single best lube. Maru, too, is pure silicone oil mixed with some kind of solvent.

I got weight 5 from thecubicle.us

Lubed a Guhong V2, a Zhanchi, a Zhanchi 55mm, a Weilong, a Gans lll with the same amount of lube all the same way based off of Crazybad's how-to.(Didn't lube the Weilong core or screws.)

The two Zhanchi's feel like a totally different way. <3 my Zhanchi 57 now soooooo much more.
Guhong V2 I could feel the difference but nothing impressive. I don't really like the Guhong tbh. I am trying but it just doesn't feel as good as the Zhanchi or the Weilong.
The Weilong feels faster and is a bit more quiet.
The Gans feels almost the same lol just less clicky.

This noob recommends it.
