Thanks! Oh, and should I use it to both lube the core and pieces, or only pieces, or something like that? I know how to do both, I just don't want a gummy cube, so will lubing the core and a drop on an edge be good?
If you dont like a gummy cube you should opt for 30k diff oil rather than 50k. With 50k its fairly hard to get a speedy non-gummy result even if you put the most minimal amount of lube in.

So 30k for both core and pieces. 30k isnt as great as 50k for the core because it does not last as long. With 50k you have to relube the core perhaps every 2 months. I havent lubed the core with 30k but I suspect you'd have to relube the core like once a month. The end result is the exact same whether you lube the core with 50k or 30k though so dont worry about that.

Alrighty, that clears up everything. Thanks. You saved me a lot of googling :D

I just realized something...

Team associated has 30,000 CST Lubricant available on Amazon... If you look Silicube's website, you can see that it says Silicube Rush is 30,000CST, the same as Team Associated 30,000CST from Amazon. DO you think I should give this a shot? cyoubx and a few other people have recommended Silicube Rush in their videos.

Hey guys, first post here. I have a zhanchi, and its the only cube I have and will be having for a long time, so I'm looking for a lubricant and my top priority is that it does not in a long or short term way, damage or degrade the cube/plastic. I think diff oil would be great, but I'll be getting it from my dad who'll bring it from USA to India, where I'm living now. So what brand of lube will a)not damage my cube b) not be removed by baggage checking guys at airport and c) is less than $10 if possible. No lubix please, its way too expensive, and maru isn't for me. Maybe traxxas, put into syringes, so that the airport dudes won't confiscate the can?

In the US, you can take as large as 3oz containers. You can bring as many as you can fit in a quart size ziplock bag. Traxxas 30k is what you'll want.

One of my other hobbies is Nitro RC Cars, and I have Team Associated Silicone Shock Fluid 40Wt from when I put an upgrade suspension on my NTC3. I have been using it on my cubes. Just a couple little drops and the stuff works wonders! I have a whole bottle of it. I was stoked that I didn't need to spend any money on lubix.

If you put a bunch in, yes.
Just a little smear on each layer should do it.
Exactly what Lchu613 said. After a while you may find that you will want to disassemble your cube and wipe all of the pieces off and restart lubing it. But I haven't had to do this yet. Just stick with adding very small amounts at a time and see how it goes.

Alrighty, thanks! I now know for sure my product will reach here and that the airport security wont be lubing themselves with it :D thanks really, thats what I was worried about, them confiscating it.

No problem. You just absolutely must be positive that the containers are under 3oz each, and all fit into a quart size bag, like I said. The airport is super strict about that..

cube lube?

Hi. I'm new to the forum so this is my first post :D. I also wanted to tell everyone about a cube lube you can use for your cube. some of you guys might be in RC cars and I have found a oil that I use for my shock that work very well on a cube and I use it on my zhanchi and it works very well :D. The oil I use is called shock oil. the good thing about it is that you can get a wide range of different consistences of the oil and it is cheaper than normal cube lube and more available and cheap. it's about $4 for a bottle and works very well.

For you guys wondering I use 25 wt shock oil and her is a link to it http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX3309&P=WR

Hope this helped :D

Welcome to the forums! What you said is right, but I'm afraid that that is no new information for us, shock oil is a cheap alternative to cube lubricants sold in cube shops.

Hope you enjoy your stay.
