I've been using weight 3 Assorted Silicone Lube from the Cubicle for a while. However, after I lube something, the green tip always makes a mess wherever I put it. Is there any way to be able to clean the inside of it?

I just suck the lube in the container if I have to put the syringe down. I take the syringe off and put a black cap (offered by lubix with the purchase) in when I'm done lubing and close all in a zip bag.

How can I make my 3x3 as smooth as butter?

I have a lubix cube (Dayan Guhong v2) that is amazing and smooth. I bought a guhong v2 DIY and lubed up all the hardware and did some edge modding with a file. But it's still very clicky. Not at all like the lubix cube. Taken apart I can't see any difference... What are some of your techniques including where to lube and specific edge modding to make it turn as smooth as butter?

How do i make my cubes really fast?

I just got a Fangshi Shuang ren and I was wondering how to make it really fast.

also, all of my cubes seem to be slower than they could be. if I loosen them too much they just explode every few minutes.

thanks.:)

Izo lube is basically the same thing as lubix, either one will work wonders.
Izo lube is cheaper though, so you might want to get that.

but why the cube must fast not your hands? :/

my hands move fast but sometimes they move too fast for my cubes.

I heard that izo lube can be better than lubix because is has a lower viscosity. is this true?

Ultimate Lubix GuHong - Mod Tutorial

That might help if not sorry.

Check if overlubed if it's too slow, don't just dump more in.

For the Fangshi, I find that it's fine withoutlube, however if yours seems to be "sticky" then you can spray some CRC in it.

If you've broken it in a lot, and you want to put some silicone oil in, smear it around with your finger, since the cube doesn't spread lube very well.

Sluggish cube usually means there is too much lube in the cube.

Maru needs only 1 (ONE!) drop in a 3x3, lubix needs one stripe across an edge and a drop on a corner stalk base, 10k traxxas can use a weeeee bit more than the lubix, and 50k less than lubix. Izo is just below the 10k I find, but also don't use too much.

Rule of thumb: cube feels sluggish, take the top cubies off and clean those and the top of the cube, then reinsert the cubies and work in.
Feels better? Then you overlubed.
Feels worse, then it needs a bit more OR different kind of lube. Some cubes hate any kind but maru.

Hi,

I just wanted to ask if it is ok to buy one of those differential Silicon oil lubes:

Reely Silikon-Differenzial-Öl Viskosität 5000, 60 ml
http://www.conrad.at/ce/de/product/232643/Reely-Silikon-Differenzial-Oel-Viskositaet-5000-60-ml

Jamara Silikon Differentialöl 5000 75ml
http://www.amazon.de/Jamara-Silikon...508824&sr=8-6&keywords=silikon+differentialöl

It has a viscosity of 5000 which is said to work best on cubes. Can I put this into my Zanchi and GuHong?

Swoncen

The thing about viscosity measurement is, that the number does not mean the same thing if the measurement table is different. Traxxas lubes use wt meaning weight, some other brands use cps meaning centipoise. For example 50,000 wt = 2291130 cps (converter: http://www.offroad-cult.org/Special/cps_wt_umrechnung/cps_wt_convert.php)

50,000 (50K) weight is great for 3x3s and especially the core. 30k wt is great for big puzzles and on the pieces of small puzzles if you want it to be uncontrollably fast. This is with diff-oil that is. The higher the viscosity (wt number), the "stickier" the lube. You dont want a very runny lube in the core or on the pieces, it will eventually wear off.

There is also the difference of shock oil and differential oil. Shock oil is runny like water, diff oil is sticky. Diff oil is best on cores and pieces of small cubes, shock oil is best for pieces on big cubes or cubes you dont want to diassemble to lube.

My personal recommendation is to buy 50,000 wt differential oil. It works all around really well on all puzzles. It's a little thicker than lubix in my opinion, but it gets the job done just as well.

Watch this video, especially the end of it.

Use that one, it's 50k (50 000), I have the exact same, it works awesome for both the core and cubies. 5K (5000) is way to low.
