Any advice on what lube to use on a tanglong?

Inviato dal mio M-MP840M utilizzando Tapatalk

It's personal preference. But the Cubicle uses maru and lubicle speedy for their premium Tanglong if that makes a difference. Basically any lube will do, but it will depend on your preference (fast, slow, medium etc).

Can someone tell me,
if you lube your cube with traxxas 50k differential oil, how much do I have to use?
And where exactly do I have to apply it? When i take out an edge piece, do I have to apply it on the back of the corner pieces, or at the core itself?
Or when i turn the up layer 45 degrees, a part of the second layer sticks out, should I apply it there?

I bought this Calvin's high viscousity lube about 2 years ago. It was in a syringe like container. I haven't used it for 2 years. Will I be able to use it now or will it leave me with a sticky cube that barely turns?

Can I use weight 2 on the core?

I recently purchased a YuXin 3x3, my preferred shades, maru cx3 soft springs and cubicle weight 2. I have heard from many tutorials to use a higher viscosity lube on the core. Is it okay for me to use my weight 2 on the core, or should I purchase some weight 4 or 5?

it should work the same no madder how old the lube is. I'm still working on useing a bottle of Silicone diff oil which is the same as the Calvin lube. the bottle I bought back in March or April and it still works the same as when I first got it.

So if you wanna lube a cube but want the cube fast you use very little traxxas 50k, you only put it on the pieces or also on the core?

And why is it important to put the lube on the screw/spring? What benefit does that have? And is traxxas 30k better for cubes then 50k? And what is the best lube overall? I hear maru lube, some like diff oil. Some dont like maru lube. Others use gans lube.

It helps remove the spring tingy noise ans it just speeds up the cube a bit some

Does anybody know where is the correct place for the washers in a Zhanchi 2x2?
In all other cubes I've seen (3x3) the washers go between the spring and the place where it sits on the plastic center piece but I just disassembled my Zhanchi 2x2 to lube it after breaking it in and I found that the washers come between the spring and the head of the screw. Should I change them to the other place or leave them where they are?

I'm lubing the core right now so I would be glad if I can have a response soon :)

mine are between the spring and center piece. they came like that and thats how it should be. I think. mine is really good so yeah.

I was starting to think that maybe that was the reason mine was not so good as yours and others' so I thought "I better ask before assembling it again". Thanks a lot for the fast reply... almost as fast as your solves! :)

Rearranged the washers, lubed the core with weight 5 and put just a tiny bit of weigth 3 on the edges and the corners' stocks. It does not have spring noise any more but the overall feeling is quite similar to what it was before. It definitely does not have any internal catches as LingPo, CB or other 2x2s but it's not the great cube I thought it'd be... yet.

add a little bit of weight 5 on the edges.

Can you change the viscosity of silicone lubricant?

Along with my cube i ordered some traxxas 50k lube. i hear that it will make the cube more gummy and i should use a wetter lube on the peices. so is it possible ?
