Is cubicle weight three good for lubing an aosu or should I get lighter weight lube to make it faster? Also, which parts of the aosu am I supposed to lube? Same thing with the lingpo, I dont know where to lube since most tutorials of lubing 2x2s show wittwos or dayans and the lingpo uses a very defferent mechanism

Really depends what you're lubing. Core or pieces?
Weight 3 is really good IMHO because you can lube both the core and the pieces without worrying about letting the core lube be runny and gumming up the pieces, its a good all-round lube.

EDIT: Hopefully not the first time anybody misspelled lube for cube in this thread.

I just lubed my 3x3 cube with Jigaloo by laying out all the pieces and doing 3 sweeps of lube. People say this is the best way without ruining your cube, but how long is it supposed to dry for dissassembled to get the best effects? Also, after reassembling, should I work it in immediately, or let it dry assembled or something?

(This post was bumped up, I did this almost 4 hours ago and it's still not assembled XD all the pieces are underneath a container bottom though.

Pieces.

I'd say assemble it now. I spray lubed my old stickrless guhong and let it dry for 10 mins, put it together and broke it in. It doesnt matter when you put it back together as long as its after a few minutes. Make sure to break it in though so that you get the effects of the lube immediately and it doesnt wear out before it even breaks in.

Lubing to make cube faster?

So I've already lubed my GuanLong(which I will refer to as GL) but its a tad bit slow if I were to lube it even more it would become slower how do I get it to get faster and loosening tension is not an option.

I've just tried to lube and tension my zanchi. I watched a lot of videos first.

I took apart the cube, laid the pieces out and gave them a light spray with 3 in 1 silicone oil.

I left it for 5 mins then put it back together and tensioned.

However the cube feels slower and stickier than it was before.

Any ideas why?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but this thread is 200 pages long!

Can anyone recommend me a video or something that works?

I've tried following several methods online and they have all made the cube far worse than it was to start with. The only thing that has made it better is using vaseline.

(which I know erodes the plastic).

I know traxxas diff oil is supposed to be the best, but it is difficult to get hold of and expensive.

Plenty of guides say silicone oil spray works well, but I have not had any luck with it.

Please advise.

Expensive?

thecubicle lube: 60¢/cc
lubix: $3.50/cc (look at that; No one can tell me that's not overpriced.)
Traxxas 50k: 13¢/cc (amazon; 20¢/cc on speedcubeshop.com)
All of these are exactly the same stuff - high viscosity silicone oil. IMO the lubicle and lubix(and others, I'm sure) are just more expensive because they target cubers, and they can get away with it.

Cheap, in my opinion.

Get traxxas. If you do, remember not to put too much - just a few drops in the right places. Check out crazybadcuber's tutorial on how to lubricate cubes. His method on Dayans should be very easily adaptable for most cubes(except from that gosh darn Gans III... cubes these days, man)

Let me get this straight, Traxxas 50k is the same as weight 5... right?

Yeah, pretty sure. Even if it's a bit different, they work just the same. I compared my traxxas to the last dying drops of my lubix that I bought three years ago, and I saw no difference.

Exactly this. I have no idea how people can say that Traxxas is expensive. It's literally cheaper than almost every other diff oil option I could ever find.

His tutorial on how to apply it is great. Really in depth and explains everything in simple details. I couldn't find a better tutorial either.

I also bought Lubix when I first got my Traxxas 50k to compare the 2. I couldn't feel any difference at all.

That's very strange how people say that weight 5 lube will gum up your cube real bad but others put a whole ton of traxxas 50k into their cube...

whoever puts a ton of traxxas 50k in their cube must be rich... how much does a ton of traxxas cost? gotta buy it in bulk, I guess...

XD okay, if "a whole ton" means 1cc or less on surfaces, then that's just right. if it means more than that, then it will definitely gum up your cube. Trust me. Both weight 5 lube and traxxas are pure high viscosity silicone oil.

Have you seen Chris Olson's Aosu lube tutorial? That's a lot of 50k he put in there.

guys i didnt know CRC doesnt works with the newer cubes.i spray my weilong with CRC and now my cube felt gummy and un controllable, what should i do?

Hold on a sec there.. 'gummy' and 'uncontrollable' don't belong in the same sentence. Gummy is slow. Uncontrollable is fast. CRC should work to some extent, just not as well as some silicone oils.

If you could make a video of your cube, that could help?
