My advice to stop timing your solves. It's quite addicting thinking timing your solves is the best way to get faster. Focus more on deliberate practice such as if you occur a f2l case, slow down, think what solution is not going to have a cube rotation. I'm a terrible explainer, but Felix and Khan may help you,
I also think you should solve the cross and f2l slow when practising. This reduces pauses and you may find better solutions for cases. For cross, try to solve it in 8 moves. Brody's videos are very helpful imo. here's one link:
At this stage, it's more so you getting used to f2l and getting the cases you see in your muscle memory. F2l was frustrating for me when I was averaging 40s. It just comes to practise and having the motivation to not give up. Hete's an f2l vid from Brody that may help
thank you

Hello. I am trying to get better at f2l now that I use cfopand never really cared about f2l. Should I just periodically drill those algorithms in that you get for each case or is there something else I can do? I use this trainer. https://speedcubedb.com/t

Thanks.

I see people are getting confused. I mean should I just learn the algorithm for every f2l case and not do it intuitively.

You should do it intuitively at first and then decode and understand the algorithms, not necessarily learn them, at a later stage. When you reach sub 15, you can learn some advanced, not-so-intuitive algorithms for some really bad cases but for now, just stick with intuitive.

I say don't worry too much about lookahead until you can confidently solve every F2L case efficiently and purely through muscle memory. If you aren't confident in your F2L and have very slow solutions looking ahead isn't really going to help you, and putting bad solutions into muscle memory is gonna reinforce bad habits. Check out Lazer0Monkey's "Every F2L Case Explained Intuitively" video and compare your solutions in your head to what he's doing first, and once you're comfortable and your solutions are efficient, focus on being able to recognize a case, look away, and solve the case with muscle memory.

I am trying to upload a picture to show the F2L case I want to talk about but it keeps saying the file size is too large... 1.28 MB is NOTHING.

Tbh I'd just rotate, but I can think of 3 solutions
- d R U' R' : it's technically the same as y' U R U' R', but maybe you'll like it better
- F' L F L' : it uses F moves but it's more fingertrick friendly than U F U' F' (F' with left thumb, F with left index). Also "I'm bad at F moves" doesn't mean "I'm going to avoid them", it means "I'm going to practice until I'm good at them"
- l' U' L M' U M : it's bad, and even worse if you do M moves with your left hand

Lefty Hedge.. Eek. I don't prefer lefty algs, but I do some lefties for convenience or to save AUF moves and whatnot.

I kinda like the d move haha thanks for the response

Steve, 1.28 MB is a massive image, typical for a 5 megapixel camera jpeg, which would be roughly be 3 times larger than my computer screen. You only need something one-tenth that file-size for a screen-filling image, so the forum limit is quite generous.
If you resize your image to a sensible 800 pixels width, or thereabouts, the resulting file-size should automatically end up well within the specs.
