hi i have been speedcubing for quite a while for more than a year but my f2l is sooo slow and im hopeless at getting it any faster please help :( thanks in advance for advice and answeers :)

I'm just starting to be able to look-ahead and it's something that I just noticed I was doing one day. It's not a technique you can learn; it's an ability that comes with time. I can't do it well yet; but, I'm optimistic...

If you're ill, maybe that's affecting your performance. Get well soon, and let us know if your skills improve.

A 28 second F2L simply means you don't full know how to set up pairs and dont know enough F2L cases. I recommend watching this video
Then practice solving F2L with these cases without pauses. You can also experiment yourself and come up with your own cases but it is a bit easier to refer to videos. Also, these are more advanced F2L tricks that will help you later on.

You really don't need a ton of advanced tricks to improve from 28 seconds. Master the basics first and that is enough to get you to 10 second F2L. There are really only three things.

1. Efficiency. Make sure you know move-efficient solutions for every case. Never use 15-16 moves on a case. Never use 11-12 moves if 7-8 will suffice. Stick to simple-to-understand solutions that prepare then insert pairs, and learn how each one moves the pieces around. Learn to use sledgehammer to reduce move count and flip edges, but avoid fancy algs as they will mess with your lookahead later.

2. Learn to insert at every slot, right and left, back and front. Practise until you can use your left hand (almost) equally. Don't waste time fumbling and rotating trying to get everything to come to the front right.

3. Recognition and look ahead. These are related and both come slowly with time. The key is to not have to watch the pair you're currently inserting. Then your eyes are free to look for what to do next. To develop this skill, practise doing each insert with your eyes closed. Find the case, close eyes, solve it, open eyes. Repeat for all four slots. Repeat for thousands of solves. Once it gets easy, you need to stop your brain from mentally visualising how you're solving the pair. Do that by finding two pairs each time. As you solve one pair blind, trace in your mind where the pieces of the second pair are going.

That's it. These are the basics you should master to get sub-10 F2L. Things like rotationless inserts and fancy algs are overrated and unnecessary at least until you have mastered these basics and got your F2L under 10 seconds. By that time you will also be in a better position to judge whether those advanced tricks really work for you.

Can anyone tell me a way to do this without the dreaded y move first. The alg site has only y moves and is the only one which has. I dont want a L M B or D move either.

Case 20 varies from website to website. Where are you learning from?
And in general, rotations during F2L aren't too terrible, as long as you're doing them for a purpose and not just looking for pieces.

Yes thats pretty ugly one. It seems its the only one without a reasonable alternative.
