F2L compared to rest of solve

Hi, I'm fairly new to speedcubing and average around 42 seconds. I use CFOP and these are how my sections average out.
Cross: 7 seconds
F2L: 25 seconds
OLL: 5 seconds
PLL: 6 seconds

I think my F2L is bad compared to the rest of my solve but I'm not sure.
If you can tell me if it is, please do.
Thanks.

Fairly good F2L. My f2l with cross is ~18 seconds. Don't worry about LL right now, Practice pairing, lookahead. Go through each case and find your favorite way of solving it. Doing that is what got me sub 30. Do you use Full OLL and/or PLL?
What cube do you use? Learn algs for tough cases.

I use 2 look OLL and I'm almost done learning 1 look PLL.
I use a Dayan Zanchi DIY and I currently use intuitive F2L. Should I be learning Algorithm F2L?

Use intuitive F2L for most cases because that enhances your understanding of the cube, and it means you can solve cases from multiple angles (i.e. with L moves instead of R moves).
But learn algs for particularly difficult cases; if you require more than 10 moves to solve a pair, try looking for an algorithm

I solve intuitive f2l like this
1. take pieces apart
2. put pieces back together correctly
3. solve pieces
some steps are skipped sometimes. Is this intuitive? if not what is.

F2L Fingering Help + Other Stuff

I was just wondering, I've been doing sub-25 and my PB being ~17.65s for a while now on my 3x3, and I'm sick of being so slow. I think that even though I've been cutting down on my cube rotations, I don't think it's enough. I've been uncertain for a while now whether to do cube rotations in certain cases or not.

If I see a case on the F2L step, and I could insert it doing moves with the F and B face, instead of doing a cube rotation, should I? I would like somebody to help me, since I already do a lot of cases from different faces than they are 'taught' in, even though taught isn't a good word. I don't know if anybody will understand what I mean or not, but I would like to be at a 17s average in 4-5 months from now, when I've been cubing for a year. I have most but not all of the OLL and PLL algs memorized, and I plan to memorize the rest soon. :) I just gotta find time. (Marching band and highschool really take up a lot of time for memorization, so I have been focussing on cutting cube rotations and improving on my technique. Any help and advice would be welcome.

Also on a side note, I've been looking into getting a Maru CX3, a Fangshi V.2 (both DIY kits), and possibly a tube or two of Maru lube (expensive as it is). Any thoughts on this? I need Maru for all my cubes for the pieces. They all need lube. :P Especially my current Fangshi. If you guys think Maru isn't too good, as there is a better option, what do you recommend?

Thanks for the help!! :)

you have got to be sure when you r inserting a pair to use f or b or just rotate otherwise you will waste time. I would rotate(nicer fingertricks)

Yea, that's what I was figuring. : P I'll research more in depth into it and see other people say too.

Don't use maru, use This Weight 1

I think the range is from 3 to ~11 moves, so average must be ~7 moves. But if you use more than 11 moves for an F2L pair, you might want to find another way of inserting it.

Unless you are doing WV or OLS of course. Or really any of the last slot variations, where most of them skip OLL.
