How many pieces do you need to remember for a 9x9 bld? For example you have to remember about 20 pieces for the 3x3, so how many for 9x9?

The Number of Targets is about =(Inner centers on a face) * (#faces) + (Pieces on the edge not counting corners) * (number of edges) + (# of corners) - (the 6 center pieces that will already be solved on odd cubes)

(7*7)*6+7*12+8-6=380 targets

Although I don't think this should even matter for most of the people on this forum. (Including myself). I hope Roman gets it soon though. He has been putting in the effort.

Yeah I have seen his attempts, that is why it cam to mind. Thanks for answering.

Does the cube in the spoiler have the textbook Speffz applied correctly? I created those two images based on the Wiki and want to make sure that I understand it.

I am on level, when I can perform 3BLD using Old Pochmann. My times are usually around 4:00-4:30 (PB 3:39).
My aim is 3OP for corners and M2 for edges.
Should I stick with OP for some time and try to practice faster execution or on this level I should start learning more complex techniques?
And which technique I should learn first? 3OP or M2?

If by 3OP you mean 3-cycle orientation + permutation then you're actually going backwards. You'll have to memorize twice as much information for the memo of corners and the execution is very inefficient.

Learn M2 since it is very very similar to OP. You're just using a different buffer (DF instead of UR,) doing slightly altered set-up moves to a different target (UB instead of UL) and doing an M2 move instead of T/J-perm. Plus once you're good at M2 it provides a good way into learning advanced M2 and then commutators.

Look into learning some BH/3-style algs for corners. You can get by off 12/13 algs for each type of corner case and doing appropriate set-ups to each!

So I should learn M2 for edges while solving corners with OP, and then try to learn BH for corners?

how/ where can i find a good tutorial for decreasing memorization time? my execution time is like a minuet/ minuet and a half but my memo is something stupid like 6 minuets because i have a terrible memory. any advice would be appreciated!

What method do you use to memorize? Most suggest and use a letter-pair method. Besides that, you'll just have to practice a lot, and get used to your scheme.

This tutorial might help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JNpJaRccRE
