There is no "best bld method", but probably your next step is to learn M2 which is similar to old Pochmann, but instead of Yperms you do...well... M2.

But if you want to learn a method that solves two pieces at a time instead of one, you could take a look at TuRBo.

Um...M2 moves wont solve corners......O.o
Thats probably good since i use Roux..
TuRBo? Sounds fun. Where may i find a good tutorial?

He meant M2 for edges, of course.

How about learning M2 for edges and 3OP for corners? Jumping right into TuRBo, whether for corners, edges, or both, will definitely be too much as a beginner.

What are the easiest memo methods for corners?

I use letter pairs for edges..

Can anyone please check to see if the cycles are correct with this scramble (4x4 BLD centers using commutators)

F' r' U r' F D2 f F' u' R' u2 B' F2 u' U' B2 u' r2 u D' L2 R' F D2 R' L' U' B2 R' F' u2 U2 r2 B D' r2 f' R' U' r2

BTW for me lower case moves for example r i just turn the outer R layer along with it. in other words, they aren't slice turns.

(from scrambling orientation, y2) solving orientation is WR.

Ulb (buffer) > Lub > Urb > Luf > Dlf > Bur> Rdf > Drf > Ulf > Ldb> Bul > Ldf > Urf > Dlb > Bdl> Drb > Urf

is that right? please correct me if there are any mistakes, also can anyone please take some time to type out the following cycles for this scramble (like above, 4x4 bld centers with Ulb buffer):

U' f2 B' U f2 L u2 U2 r' B f2 U' F2 R' F f2 u L B f2 R2 L2 B2 u' L' r2 F f R2 D2 f u' D f2 D' R2 f U r' D2

again, lower case letters aren't slice turns. I use a fixed buffer too. ;) thanks.

Hi guys I'm a blinder from italy... I now average about 1:00 - 1:10 for 3bld... I use UR as buffer for edges (Pochmann's fault!) and I use freestyle... do you think I should change buffer in UF or improove bad cases for UR? I do about 20 sec execution edges I think (not sure..)

whaattt....oh crap.....anyway can you just help me with center memo, like maybe do an example solve? i get confused when there are white centers ( i solve with white on top, red on front) in my memo.....

Alright, I used your scramble
U' f2 B' U f2 L u2 U2 r' B f2 U' F2 R' F f2 u L B f2 R2 L2 B2 u' L' r2 F f R2 D2 f u' D f2 D' R2 f U r' D2
Scrambling with White (U) and Green (F) like WCA standart.

First orient with x` (same direction like L) and z (like F). This gives us 8 solved centers (Lub, Ldf, Fur, Frd, Rub, Rfd, Dfr, Dlb)

Ulb (Buffer) -> Lfu -> Dfl -> Urb -> Bur -> Flu -> Blu -> Dbr -> Ulf -> Ruf -> Lbd -> Ufr - Brd -> Fld -> Bdl -> Rbd (all solved but and odd number off swaps so I´ll add one of the U Layer) -> Urf

Thanks for the help, Jakob! Also, is this true:

Whenever a white piece (my solving orientation is WR) is the 3rd piece in the cycle, i break into a cycle after that? cos the white piece will be in my buffer after i do the commutator.

Not really, I see this white piece in the buffer not as solved, I claim that this white center piece belongs to Urb, Ufr or Ulf. Only if all of these center pieces are solved I break into a new cycle like ... -> Buffer -> Fdr (unsolved piece) -> ... -> Fdr (close the Buffer) and maybe another cycle.

When doing M2 edges if you find yourself with a BU piece in your buffer with centres swapped, is it always the case that the edge 2 after this one will also become unorientated?

My memo just now was UR BU RF DL for the first 4 edges.. When it came to solving I put the UR in place then I did an M2 to shift the BU (since it was solved.. but unorientated)..
I took my blindfold off and found BU and DL unorientated..... Meh :(.

~Just got the same situation with BU but there was an edge already solved that I forgot to memo and the alreadysolved edge+BU were misorientated. IM SO CONFUSED. Might just hop back to OP for competition this weekend. :/.

I've tried that one and it didn't seem to work for me. Is there any other good methods?

You have to try it several times, it may be don´t stick into your head, but when you did this more often it will be easy.
But when this also doesn´t work, give every corner sticker a letter (like URB = A, RBU = B, BUR = C, UFR = D, ... or anything like this), and then you can build sentences (OPES Old Peter eats a snake) or memorize Letter Pairs (OPES OPera EastSheen). Just look at this http://www.speedsolving.com/wiki/index.php/BLD_Memorization, there are several other methods.

Thank you very much!

What is the advantage of M2 over doing setup-moves and U-perms (that would be called freestyle, I think)?

I learned M2/R2 some weeks ago and I am averaging around 5 minutes now. I tried U-perms once and it took about 10 minutes, but due to the fact I am not used to the setup-moves I think this was quite OK. So what is the advantage of M2?
