Oh dang, it might be a while; I need to make a new def file. I only have a 2 gen one and a LRU one, but that cant mess with orientation

Edit: Well, it actually might be a very long time... it has been running for 5 hours and is at depth 14 with no results.

I've not done megaminx BLD yet, but since I have been working on it and have a method prepared I thought I would chip in, even though I'm not sure anyone will use it (at least my memo). I've mentioned before a few times (once in this thread at least) that I use a composite letter pair image system for memo: the first letter gives me an object and the second gives me a way to modify the image of that object. That makes it easy to cover the English alphabet, the Greek alphabet, and digits 0-9, which exactly covers all the sticker positions of a megaminx (a coincidence which still freaks me out a little). Note that none of the image descriptions actually alter quantity, but are other things I can associate with the numbers (such as 3=on phone, since there is a phone network called 3). I plan to direct solve, by setting up to easy 3-cycles, without worrying about inefficient memo since I don't need 2 letters per piece. Overall, the amount of information then works out to be similar to a 4x4. I'll need to do a few more practice solves, I'm finding it hard to track pieces, but I hope to be able to attempt it soon.

Slightly off topic: I'm now working on extending my system to encode 3 letters per image, then 4 letters. I love the fact that it will still be a shorter list to learn than a standard letter pair list, covers more letters, and is more condensed. Shame I'm not yet fast enough at BLD to make good use of it :p. I plan to post more about it after I have learned it all and tested it out in practice. I really like the idea of this system and I will probably mention it more than strictly necessary to see if I can get anyone else to test it. Does anyone feel like switching to it/using it when starting to use an image system?

I have tried out your memo system (despite it never being replied to... I thought it was pretty good)
I Was having problems with the adjective sticking. Could you post your list of adjectives (including numbers etc if you can :) ) In a spoiler some where on this thread?

How do you fix parity for a 3BLD solve using Classic Pochmann? I can't find any good results after 6 pages of searching, also if it helps anyone my edge buffer is UR and my corner buffer is ULB.

Or they could learn a different alg (RUD, cba to write it out right now) which no rotation is needed. I use that alg for OH, 2H, and BLD. it's quite nice. I never did like that LUF alg.

Haha, neither do I, however knowing the other R perm makes it easy to learn.

How about R U' R' U' R U R D R' U' R D' R' U2 R' U'.. It is the only optimal one at that angle.

Edit: Weird, very similar to Y perm.

Depends how much you want them to block, they are all rating by decibals. Home depot will have them (That is where I got all 3 of mine) because they are used for power equipment. You can also get them online.

No...The l slice should never be used unless you are shooting to one of the 4 l slice targets.

ok

What's the best way to memo and execute? I haven't done a full attempt yet (I'm trying to perfect everything by doing center only solves, edges only solves, etc.). On 3x3, I do mEdges, mCorners, exCorners, exEdges. On 4x4, I'm thinking of doing mEdges, mCorners, mCenters, exCenters, exCorners, exEdges.

Is this the best, or what do you do?

Depends on your execution.

For memo I'd recommend something like Journey or Roman Rooms. Something like that can stick for a while.

If you are going to use OP corners, commutator centers (they are quite easy), and r2 edges, I'd memo Centers-edges-corners, and execute corners-centers-edges.

I do that, exactly what I typed a bove. Except now that I can do all corner commutators, I'l be doing that for future BLD attempts.
