It looks like BH

ok im learning old pochmann and i know how to do edges and and corners and i know i have to apply parity when i do an oddd number of t pers/j perms but which r perm do i use for parity and what set up moves or do i need any?

I am making my Letter pair list. Is it OK to steal some letter pairs, some of them just completely slip my mind.
Should I just practice the letter pairs in a solve? Or, should I Drill them?
I'm not sure how others go about this, I 'drilled' them in. It was very boring, it took around a week to memorise my list.

blakedacuber, you should take notice that this is the std R-perm with U' as a set up move
U' - R perm U

Personally I do y' - R perm - y so I am "more conscious" of what I am doing.
I find it tricky to have a set up move that is identical to the last move of the alg.

im trying to learn bld for 3x3, but whats the easiest method or best video tutorial/ written.

like eric limeback with m2 for edges or badmephisto

Of course its ok to steal some. I recommend drilling them. If you have the time to spend in front of a computer or a cell phone that can access it, I highly recommend an intelligent cue card program like Anki.

Hi, kinda stuck here. Currently learning 3-op from Macky's site.

Here's my numbering system:

UFL 1
UBL 2
UBR 3
UFR 4

BFL 5
BBL 6
BBR 7
BFR 8

After The Corner Orientation, I need to permutate ( 1 6 ) ( 2 3 7 4 )

This leaves me with ( 1 6 ) ( 2 7 )

How can I permutate those 2 ??

Thanks ! Hope its not that confusing !

In my method of memorisation, I memorise the corners visual and de edges with letters. I want the method fastest for memorise the edges only.
But I have two options:

- 2 letters ---> 1 word (for example: B L --> Blind; F O --> Football;...)

- 2 letters ---> 1 monosyllable (for example: B L --> Bol; F O --> Fo;...

What method do you think that is faster? (edges only)

If you know a other method that it is fast, put it in your answer and explain it please. :)

are you just new to learning BLD btw?

also can someone please xplain to me how i deal with having to frickin a new cycle? every solve ive done it always ends up with e confused as to how iii get the bffer into osition at the end of edges

Joel van Noort's Old Pochmann tutorial has good explanation and examples of breaking into new cycles.

Don't worry for now, you will be fine.
In a few weeks you will probably laugh at yourself when you read back your questions about this stuff.

ive read it but i just need someone to do a wal through solve

Don't ever pay attention to the buffer piece itself. Don't even think about the buffer piece. The idea is that you solve the other 11 edges, and then you get the buffer piece for free. Put absolutely no thought whatsoever into what happens to the buffer piece, period. Just solve the other 11 edges by breaking into a new cycle if necessary.

It's like that bad non-cuber comment where they say:
"I once solved 5 sides, but couldn't get the 6th side"

If you solve the other 11 edges, you have to have also solved the buffer. But the best part is you got it for free, without any effort.

thank you:):) so would that be the reason youd keep getting the same 3 cubies/stickers needing to be swapped when im near the end?

There is one possible reason for watching the buffer piece: if you do, you can sometimes catch errors when memorizing because the piece isn't flipped correctly (meaning you've missed at least one flipped-in-place edge somewhere) (or twisted, in the case of corners). I've often felt that I should really start doing this for multi, for the sake of accuracy, but I've never bothered. It would probably fix about 30% of my mistakes if I would.
