Need preferably 2 more room ideas. I'm *literally* out of ideas. I spent several hours trying to think of more

I use a lot of Super Mario 64 places, they work well for me. There is a lot more castle there, as well as outside the castle and 15 main levels, usually with a lot of places you can use. For example, I can fit 6 3x3s in Bob-omb Battlefield, and 7 in Whomp's fortress. If you take a little bit of time to familiarise yourself with the levels (I assume this won't be much of a problem since you've clearly played the game before), you can create loads of locations for routes with little effort. I also use Banjo-Kazooie, which is good, and I started using Clock Town from Majora's Mask today, they (and similar games) also have a lot of easy to exploit potential. If you want, I can provide the locations I use, though you will probably prefer to make the routes yourself, I know I would.

I know there is a load of potential for the game, but I don't use Journey. I use roman rooms.

I prefer a room box-based structure with a (counter)clockwise motion of going through everything in the room. THat's why I was only able to think of the main entrance as being usable.

If you know of more "rooms" let me know. I used to play that game all the time.

Best I can think of for your style is Big Boo's Haunt, there's a few rooms there. Not sure how well it would work for you (it's quite good for me to go through the rooms), but you might be able to manage something. Also, Clock Town in Majora's Mask can be good, there's a few places you can treat as rooms, as well as a couple of actual rooms which are good. Not sure if you've played it, but I highly recommend it for both routes and gameplay. Hope you manage to decide on useful new routes soon anyway, even if it helps you get further ahead of me at multi :p

I just need more rooms (been delaying on that for a while). Need to start doing more cubes and get my brain stronger so I can do lesser cube attempts in comp and it'll seem easy :). I'm going to try that out and see if it works. Hell, couldn't hurt.

I'll look at those rooms and see what I can use. 2 more rooms shouldn't be *that* hard to make, right ;)?

I guess you win. What is the UWR for 4BLD while listening to Nyan Cat.

I just did 5:10.26 (2:13.36+2:57.00, I accidentally stopped the timer during memo and had to start it again), which was like 1:30 memo, pop during first corner comm, mistakes during centers, etc, just bad :s

29.73 3bld sorry toastman :(

DASTARD! You mean I just wasted over an hour of my life, getting failure after failure, my ears bleeding with Nyanedness, all for nothing?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHGHGHHGHGHGHGHGHHGHGHGHGHHGHGHGHGHGHHGHGHGH!

How about anyone who uses freeestyle/BH for corners(like Amos, Zane, Aron, Chris, Mike, etc.). How do you solve parity?

On 4x4x4 I just remember the last letter of the last corner that's giving me parity. I then say that letter and the word parity, I use this so that it also goes into my auditory memory.

So if the last letter in my cycle is K I would say "K parity". Then, after solving centers, I setup piece K into the U layer and perform a PLL alg plus swapping the wings back.

On 5x5x5 I actually cycle the buffer to the last piece, and then to an already solved location on the U layer. This creates a double swap on the U layer. I do the same for midges. This creates a PLL case on the U layer, and I remember that PLL case by saying it out loud. So I might say "left N perm", "T perm", "upside down T-perm", "J perm", "R-perm" etc.

The reason I do the extra cycles on 5x5 is I have found that if I use the same approach as for 4x4x4 I often forget the parity pieces after solving both t-centers and x-centers. In order to alleviate this memory interference, I make the parity cycle easier to remember. I know it probably slows me down a bit for the two extra cycles, but I still solve fairly fast on 5BLD (dare I say it), and I feel that this method makes me more accurate and get fewer DNFs due to parity.

That's cool. What about 3x3. How do you solve parity with that?

I solve edges first, so when I get down to the last parity edge piece I remember (visually) where it is. Then when going through the corner solve after that, and I get down to the last parity piece, I recall the visual location of the parity edge and I do setup moves to setup both the corner and edge into a PLL. I usually setup the edge first (slice moves don't disturb corners) and then the corner. I don't know if this is necessarily the best way to handle this, but it works for me.
