If youre putting so much lube that some of it gets on the stickers, you're overapplying. CBCs method is great when used correctly. When I lube the pieces I put only 1 small bead on the last edgepiece on F2L and 1 little bead on the last corner piece you put in the LL. Then you just work it in. All cubes should feel horrible right after lubing if you use diff oil because it needs some breaking in to even out. Diff oil as a substance is like a glue until you spread it around thinly enough.

Isn't it inevitable for lube to get onto the surface of the cube when you lube it the CBC's way though?

To be more specific, if you lube the edge piece like this, surely when you work the lube in your cube by solving/doing random turns the lube will get onto the surface of the cube right? As when you turn a face 45 degress or so this part of the edge piece will be exposed and your finger is likely to touch it and your fingers will touch the surface of the cube.

I guess the way to avoid this is to not lube this part of the edge piece but to lube the lower half of the edge piece?

But if you do so then you wouldn't be lubing the entire contact points of your pieces?

~10k

as thin as it can be without being like maru lube or water. I think anything between 10k and 30k will be fine. It's possible to have an awesome aosu/weisu with 50k but it's much easier to get a super slow and overlubed cube.

Yeah Ill try something really thin this time. Thanks.

So when you lube your edge piece do you lube the top half of it like in the pic in my previous post?

Can I use "LiquidWrench" to lube my cubes?

Ok, so I live in a rural area of saskatchewan and I shop in Regina. I can not find a store that actually sells lube for rubik's cubes. The closest I can find is a lubricate called "Liquid Wrench: Lubricating Oil". I was wondering if anyone has any experience with using this?.

I can not order online, while I have a CC and even another visa card connected directly to my bank account. I do not use my CC unless for emergencies and I do not have spare cash at any time really to order online (at least not from places other than something like lighttake.com, but I am impatient). I can easily pick this up at walmart for like 7 dollars which is cheaper than a 10ml thing of lube online.

My concerns are it might warp the plastic and also it has a "disclaimer" at the bottom that says

*AS WITH ALL CHEMICAL-BASED PRODUCTS, TAKE SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS WHEN APPLYING AND/OR HANDLING LIQUID WRENCH

and since I obviously cube with my hands, is it safe to use something like this?.

This is the website http://www.liquidwrench.com/ I searched on there "rubik's cube" and it gave me the two options I have available at my walmart.

My friend used the blue can (Lubricating Oil) and had to throw away most of his cubes. Maybe the silicone spray (red can) would work, but I wouldn't risk it unless someone else knows more than I do. CRC Silicone is at a lot of Walmarts and Home Depots. Also, differential oil is easy to find and works great too. Get 30k.

It would work as long as it is silicone. and when applying the lube wear gloves for precaution and dont put a lot of the oil at once

If possible, get CRC heavy duty silicone (red can). I found mine at walmart. This is what it looks like

I'm thinking about lubing my Weisu. I've never lubed a higher order cube before and I was wondering which lube to use where. I have Traxxas 30K and 50K. I've heard that for the 4x4's the core doesn't need to be lubes, just the circles that the faces spin around. Is there anything else I should be aware of before I start?

10K and 30K diff oil

I found a hobby shop in my area that sells traxxas diff oil 50k. Is this something that would be recommended above common silicone sprays?.

Thanks for the help, so you know what weight I should get?. Like 10k, 30k, 50k?

It depends on what cubes you are going to be using it on, but 30k and 50k are both great. If you would like more of a 'gummy' feel then 50k would be a good choice, but if you prefer slightly more faster cubes then go for the 30k. IMO both of them work very well, and as I said it just depends on your personal preferences. 10k is generally used for big cubes such as 7x7's.
