Memorize the first letter of each face (A, E, I, M, Q, U) which facilitates having to navigate through the whole alphabet.So im trying to learn spheffz scheme (Sorry if i spelled that wrong) but im having trouble learning where the letters are. I mean i can go around the cube and tell what each sticker is (If i start saying the ABC's while touching the sticker and that seems inefficient because than i have to look all over to find where the piece goes and then during my execution i have to touch all the pieces to find where it belongs and that may end in a train wreck! so my question is how did you guys learn/train this scheme so you did not end in a train wreck?:confused:
I tried this with ppt, I can do corners no problems, but edges I can't. I've had a few full attempts and all fails, I guess I'll keep practicing.You could use qqTimer's edges/corners only scrambles in 3x3 subsets. I did a few edges-only attempts before my first full attempt. You never get parity though, which isn't very helpful.
I'm learning Old Pochmann for BLD and I had a question about breaking into a new cycle.
I use a lettering scheme, and D and E are on the same edge piece. If D was already within my first cycling of pieces, I can't break into a new cycle by switching my buffer with E, right?
Nope, once you solve D, E is technically solved too. Break into a completely new edge piece.
I am getting back into bld. My memo is like a minute when it used to be 30 seconds. Any tips for getting back the hang of bld.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of fixed Ulb buffer or floating buffer on U for 4BLD centres? Would it be better to learn floating buffer from the start in order to be more comfortable after some time with it, rather than finding later that I want to switch and it being harder?
The interchange can be done first: [L',U R U'] = L' U R U' L U R' U'I am trying to learn commutators (and BH in general).
I am following this tutorial: http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?12268-BH-Tutorial
I have problem with first exercise: EXERCISE A. Earlier in this section, we worked on the commutator (URB LFU LUB) with the interchange move of B. Do this commutator again, but use L as the interchange.
My solution:
A = R' B' R B
B = L'
Then perform B A B' A' commutator.
My solution solves the case, but it is 10 moves long. As I understand optimal solution should have only 8 moves.
Where I am doing mistake? What is optimal 8 moves solution to this case? (with L as interchange)
The interchange can be done first: [L',U R U'] = L' U R U' L U R' U'
New cycle. If you get your buffer piece in the buffer position, flipped or not, always new cycle.in m2 what do u do if the buffer is flipped
