I bought Traxxas 50k. I tried it on my Guhong and Fangshi, it makes them feel like they are in glue. I tried putting a lot and a little bit. They both make it feel like that. :/ Any tips? I am looking for a speedy fast cube.

Still used too much lube in the cube. Just take a towel or paper towel or something and wipe the pieces down. Reassemble the cube without relubing and it should be good.

The moment there is any lube in it, it just gets slow. Even if there is the smallest bead. D:

You need to work it in for it to take effect.

First you take everything apart and lube the core, then you put 1 tiny bead on the side of an edge piece and 1 bead on the stalk of a corner. Then you solve the cube around 25 times and it should feel great.

I actually found my fangshi was almost as fast as my weilong after lubing the core and breaking the cube in with ~1000 solves. I just added about half the normal amount that you would put in a zhanchi and lubed it almost the same way (but avoiding the holes).

Just don't add any more lube in the cube. Break the cube in and it will be faster.

What lube did you use Yuxuibbs? Ill go try starting over.

Oh and another question. Why does the core (screw and center piece) get black oily stuff. I don't know if this is lube, but this only happens on some sides. It seems like but it is completely black. o.O

Yeah that oily stuff happens in the core of any cube I've seen. I suspect it's the plastic dust breaking in and getting mixed into the lube.
Wipe that nasty stuff off w/ a tissue.

Neither of those cubes are speedy fast as it is :P. Your best bet is wiping the pieces off.

Wait whut.
How much slower exactly do you find the Fangshi than the Weilong or CX3 or whatever cube happens to be speedy fast?

Quick lube help

I asked my father for some silicon and he gave me some SuperLube. It is a synthetic-based PTFE oil and i want to know if its safe.

According to their website it should work just fine. It is a high viscosity lubricant though so it's unlikely to work on big order cubes. If you were to put it on the pieces of a 3x3 for example you should use max 1 drop at the beginning and see how that works out.

I've never tried it myself so I cant say for sure, even though its described as safe to use on plastic.

Hey guys, first post here. I have a zhanchi, and its the only cube I have and will be having for a long time, so I'm looking for a lubricant and my top priority is that it does not in a long or short term way, damage or degrade the cube/plastic. I think diff oil would be great, but I'll be getting it from my dad who'll bring it from USA to India, where I'm living now. So what brand of lube will a)not damage my cube b) not be removed by baggage checking guys at airport and c) is less than $10 if possible. No lubix please, its way too expensive, and maru isn't for me. Maybe traxxas, put into syringes, so that the airport dudes won't confiscate the can?

Just like any other fluid there are max limits on what you can bring with you to an airplane, and I believe that 50cc is perfectly legal to bring. I recommend traxxas differential oil (30k or 50k) in a 50cc bottle.

Though you should be able to order traxxas to India through ebay just like anywhere else.

Thanks! Oh, and should I use it to both lube the core and pieces, or only pieces, or something like that? I know how to do both, I just don't want a gummy cube, so will lubing the core and a drop on an edge be good?
